Kindle for PC

Mac version coming soon.

I wonder how much this is actually going to boost sales. I friggin' hate reading on a monitor, and generally print PDFs unless I'm just using them for reference and will only be reading a few paragraphs.

I am considering a Kindle though, since they seem to be easy on the eyeballs.

I've been thinking about getting a Kindle 2. They seem to read just about like a book with their eink display. The DX at almost $500 is a little steep for me.

As an avid reader, I'm PRAYING I get the K2 for Christmas. It is finally something worthwhile for me, being in Canada as I can use the whispernet feature. And the first generation Kindle was UGLY. This one is quite svelte. Add to that, that many of my favorite authors already have Kindle versions and I'm sold

I don't think that it will be a big sales booster. However, I think it has tremendous convenience for Kindle owners. You take your Kindle with you everywhere. Now you can read while you are at the office. The best part is when you have ten or fifteen minutes to kill while you are at work you can do it. Without having everyone else in the office see you pick up your Kindle. It will look like your actually working.
