Writing a blog that wins in 10 steps

Blogs are very probably the most prevalent sort of easy content businesses can upload on their websites.

You read them, I read them, and we all read them, but which ones made an impression on you?

Which blogs provided you with relevant information? Which ones prompted you to reflect or taught you anything new?

Most importantly, which attracted you to the brand that made them?

Finally, creating a blog post should do this for your company (or your client's company).

A strong SEO blog post should also attract targeted traffic from search engines and turn those visitors into leads.

Yes, blogs can and should make money. They must be self-sufficient and work hard behind the scenes.
  1. Choose a topic that is both interesting and relevant to your target audience.
  2. Research the topic thoroughly and gather all the information you need to write a comprehensive and informative post.
  3. Write a compelling headline that grabs the reader's attention and entices them to read more.
  4. Organize your thoughts and ideas into an outline to make writing the post easier.
  5. Use subheadings, bullet points, and images to make the post visually appealing and easy to read.
  6. Use simple, clear, and concise language to make the post easy to understand.
  7. Use storytelling to make the post more engaging and relatable.
  8. Include a call-to-action at the end of the post, encouraging readers to engage with your content and share it with others.
  9. Use SEO best practices to optimize the post for search engines and make it more discoverable.
  10. Share the post on social media and other platforms to reach a wider audience and increase engagement.

I mainly check trending topics in digital marketing which can have high chances to get a ranking for keywords. The headline is the main part of the website which attracts not only the audience's attention but also has a great possibility to get ranked by the search engine. When writing a campaign, use sub-heading too.

Adding backend digital marketing good practices can get it ranked easily.

Yeah, no. Only platitudes, you know.

    What's a compelling headline?

Everybody knows how to become a billionaire. Actually, everybody knows several ways to become a billionaire, in the style of this article:

Buy a house, rent it out. Buy another one, rent it out... Repeat till you have 4 houses. When you have 4, sell them and buy a hotel. If one is available on Boardwalk Avenue, buy that one. If there isn't a hotel available on Boardwalk, go for Park Avenue.

What is easy. Buy something for $1 and sell it for $2. Rinse and repeat.

But, have you noticed, there aren't 7 billion billionaires on Earth?

Or Buy one 1 house for 100 k fix it and flip it, then buy the 2nd house and keep it. Then buy the 3rd and flip it. Then do this approach 10 times to become a millionaire.

Must be a slow day ;>)

To the OP, I don't read blogs, and I don't believe that EVERYONE does either, just sayin.

          Sorry to disagree, Gordon.

I do not read blogs. I sometimes read a post / article one some blog or other. So do other people. I know because some of my leads come from my blogs. I know they do because they say they found me through my blog and, more importantly, reference something in one of the posts. (Usually, it's something that is specific to my blog: I have more detailed info and info that is, how shall we say, contrarian.)

This is hilarious because in a way it solidifies something that I've thought for a while now.

But I won't (directly) call it out.

It does suck that the forum has to do this every once in a while *cough* post *cough* to have more content, but it is what it is.

Perhaps we need to return and make the warriorforum back what it used to be back in the day (more active)!

But, despite my interest in that, the topic is about blogging, and there were great tips shared here.

Relative to this post, I'm genuinely surprised the OP didn't talk about tags, categories, keywords, keyword density, alt tags, outbound/inbound links, heading types (h2, h3, h4), or stuff like that.

Given, the OP's post does cover the basics, but SEO practices used to be (and still is) a very important part of getting traffic to the blog post.

Maybe a post about SEO tactics for bloggers would be nice or something along those lines... just a suggestion LOL.

I was watching a 'house hunters international' show I had recorded and the woman looking for a home in Puerto Rico described herself as a vlogger....talked about how many 'followers' she had and how people followed her to see what she had to say about various topic.

One 30 minute (10 were commercials) segment listening to that women and I don't understand it. She was BOOOOOORING....she was not likable....why would people 'follow' someone like that.

I've noted several of these 'internet nomads' on such shows and they are all quite proud of their 'online presence.' They are also almost always looking for a cheap rental in a low cost country - so maybe their 'online presence' isn't all that great after all?

Could be several reasons. Maybe she does not elaborate on her life experiences until she is actually vlogging. And maybe just maybe she has an incredible array of experiences that really interest her Followers and Audience.

Also she could have one of those split personalities that change on the stop of a dime once she is in front of her Followers.

Who knows?? But really hard to judge someone from a segment like that

  • Solid blog writing tips from my experience. Don't forget to add that you can use AI to generate or at least seed certain parts of the content.

For SEO and retention I always put a subtitle urging people to scroll to the bottom where I have a relevant video embedded, this seems to increase my engagement and retention rate. Also interllinking with external and internal pages is good also.

    I like these tips.

#6 and #7 area really good. Being practical guides bloggers to keep it simple and to tell stories.

Adopt a conversational, chatty tone. I picture myself chatting with my readers in the living room before sitting down to write a blog post. Writing how I speak deviates from some posts ranking on Google but connects me with my readers. Plus, some of my posts do rank on page 1 of Google.

Tell stories. People enjoy stories because movies, streaming and books fascinate us. Tell stories from your life and relate to your blogging niche. Or tell stories of readers, customers and clients. Stories entertain while educating.
