Domain Appraisals - Any Advice?

I have a domain I'm interested in, that the seller is
asking > $75,000 for.

Are there any good, independent sources that can help
me determine what the true value of the domain might
be worth?

I realize it's worth what someone will pay for it.

Thx.

i would start checking alexa stats for traffic, ask the owner also for google analytics stats of his traffic. Then do the math whether the traffic, site name, PR, google rank are worth the money.

Is it a "category killer", is it a .com (hope so), one word or two? which industry? how old is it? we need alot more info before we start to give advice ...

Theres not really any cookie cutter way, the best way is to ask ppl who are in the domain game industry, go check out dnforum.com - they will give you a pretty good estimation.

Unless we have some serious domainers at the wf
