Ezine changes anchor text rule

Thanks man. This is really important seeing as I post articles on a regular basis. I didn't get that e-mail. Sure would have been nice to know before I submitted these last 10 haha.

There is a EZA blog entry regarding this rule change. (Can't post the link because I don't yet have 15 posts) This is most welcome indeed since I like to link to the name of my blog, and yes, long tail keywords are great!

The common words are excluded regardless of word-count, at least that's how I read that blog update.

Ya I saw this coming! Too many WSOs have been going on here that says write no more than 250 words. But that does no good to Ezine Articles. It adds no value to them. I guess if they increased the word limit to 400, people would write less articles. So they decided to give this 'bait' of 5 word anchor text, to get people to write longer articles I guess!

I'm a bit amazed it took them this long. They make their money from Adsense, after all, and this will open up more long-tail rankings that should net them a nice new bit of coin.

This is good news for us all. I am one of those who find it extremely hard to cope with the 3 words resource box anchor text but thank goodness, it has now changed.

  Agree, 3 words in the title seems to me very little for a title. But I guess they mostly want articles with more than 400 words and that`s why they put this rule.

Seriously I've stopped using EZA for a long time already.I'm using AB and Go to drive traffic to my site.I had enough of EZA's BS and STUPID rules.Enough is Enough you B.S EZA!!

I'm not talking about the new anchor text rules, but this note that they sent:

* Important Note: Any common words, including to, is, in, on, it, and, at, by, a, an and others will now be excluded from the word count.

For anybody who didn't recieve the email, and wants to know the exact mail, here it is from start to finish:

A quality guideline now becomes a rule.
Every month we raise the quality bar a little. This month is no different. Effective immediately, we've tightened our standards on how many words are accepted in anchor text links - and for good reason.
An "Anchor Text Link" is a clickable word or phrase that links to another web page. [How to create an Anchor Text Link]
Sadly, some authors abuse this ability by linking-up extremely long key phrases - or worse yet, entire sentences. Before you know it, a quality article looks ugly because it's filled with giant text links. Suddenly the emphasis of the article is shifted from providing useful information to merely serving as a vehicle for link space in an ugly resource box.
Our Editorial Guidelines suggest limiting anchor text links to only 3 words but ...
Expert Authors can now earn the ability to link-up 4-word and 5-word phrases* by submitting lengthier (over 400 words) high-quality articles.
BOTTOM LINE:

If your article is shorter than 400 words, each text link may only contain a maximum of 3 words*
If your article is longer than 400 words, each text link may only contain a maximum of 5 words*

* Important Note: Any common words, including to, is, in, on, it, and, at, by, a, an and others will now be excluded from the word count.
Make sense?
Member feedback is what lead us to study, and then allow, the "common words" to *not* count towards the total words allowed in an anchor text link.
