how to upsell/cross-sell etc for high life-time-value

G'day everyone,

I'm sure you're all familiar with the normal upselling/cross-selling.
And the usual consensus seems to be: if you don't do it, you leave a lot of money on the the table.

Just the other day I bought Russell Brunson's 'free' mp3 player (24month millionaire) and then a day later I was phoned, they tried to upsell me to personal coaching.

My main gripe was this: they didn't even try to figure out if/how I was using/enjoying the 'thing' I bought and hence (IMO) made it a useless sales presentation.

So, what's your view, how do you do your back-end upselling, when do you do it, how do you ensure you ensure people actually consume your products (so they get results and love you forever;-)
