Youtube = poor conversions?

Has anyone had any real success promoting with Youtube?

I've received over 1000 visitors the last couple days with Youtube and have only received one sale selling a TV on PC product from Clickbank.

Please share your experiences

I make daily sales from You Tube.

It is not complicated, it is something that requires consistent work and set your video up for the long term. You dont know when the user will be looking for your product, a month, a year, 2 years, make sure you are there ti receive it.

    Cheers,
    Mukul

Keep in mind that You Tube view to conversion is lower then your standard. I think my traffic conversations at 6% of total views. Just keep working at it...

      Define conversion....

Do you mean 6% of your video viewers click to see your offer (CTR)

      Or

Do you mean that 6% of your video views convert to a sale (conversion)

      Or

Do you mean that 6% of the people that clicked FROM Youtube end up in a sale? (on-site conversion)

Because my youtube views : sale conversion is at .4% (yes, with a decimal). I'd like to see your channel (PM if you don't want to post) if you're getting sales on 6% of the total youtube views you get. That is insanely high from what I've seen.

Traffic from views (Views : Website Traffic), sales would be nice..

Secret to improving conversions is to direct them to a list and build a relationship with them instead of sending them straight to a sales page because youtube users are not in a buying mood they are in an entertainment mood that is one of the reasons why conversions are low. By building a list you can double or even triple your conversions.

That way your description has the link. Your video has the url for 30 seconds after and a good call to action. Once they're on the list then your conversions should go up.
Great tip i actually started implemented this and it has increased conversions by a bunch and I'm pretty sure I read it from you on here in a different you tube thread thanks!

As somebody stated above if you're using YT traffic ----- > sales copy, you're making a serious mistake.

My best results from YT (and indeed all other video sharing sites) goes as follows:

Create your video and ensure the URL is in the video from start to finish , people make an awful mistake of only showing it at the beginning and the end, in addition at the end verbally ask them to visit your site, as well as having a full sized text frame at the end of the video with a clear call to action and the URL clearly visible.

Make the URL short and something I've found works well is to make it something along the lines of:

              cure-your-spots-solution.com

So while normally I don't like hypens in URL's, in videos I make an exception, it makes it easy for them to see and retype. In addition I always add "solution" at the end, generally people are looking for a solution, it triggers them to take action.

Then always always send them to an OPT In page and make it a video based Opt in page, it's far less jarring to move from Youtube to a video based opt in, than a text based opt in and we know these people like videos, right ?

Your video opt in should be short and sweet, from there you're going to offer them a valuable report to help them solve their problem , or you might like to offer them a valuable video either works.

In the opt in video, offer them the one biggest secret to "insert niche here", all they need to do is to opt in to get the biggest secret to solving their problem.

Then send them some decent information which explains more about the problem but doesnt' 100% solve it.

Then offer them something to solve it...

It's a bit more work but you're building a list, using an opt in page that's congruent with the type of site they came from and the conversions are dramatically different from trying to sell to cold prospects from YT, it really doesn't work well taking somebody cold from watching a video on a free site to trying to sell them something.

You can also if you're then really pushing the envelope a little, run an on exit script so if they don't opt in, you can say something along the lines of :

Don't want the free E-report/Video ? No problem, Click here to Find Out more about (insert niche here) , then use that to redirect them to your copy.

              The above ensures that:

              a) You're building a list which you can now mail to with a solid AR series and/or broadcasts.
              b) You're conversions and per visitor sale value will increase because you're taking them from video to video, it's less jarring and feels more natural for them to opt in.
              c) YOu get a chance to sell to them in the free report or free video on an OTO basis.
              d) Even if they don't opt in, you still get them to your sales copy, so it's a "risk free opt in"
              e) Did I mention you're building a list?

Youtube traffic is not targeted taffic, and generally most visitors are not in a "buying mode". I know when I visit youtube I'm not looking to buy something. I am just looking for a video or something to waste some time.

  • Why would anyone expect to make a video, post it on youtube then link out to Clickbank and have great conversions?

Conversion is a matter of intent. Do Youtube visitors go to Youtube with Credit Card in hand? What is the demographic of the Youtube user? What are their intentions?

    Sales is a process.

If you are looking for people in the buying mood, you have to look for people the problem solving soon. Your video the solution to there problem. You have sneak peak and then action them to your website. Many will not bite, but a % will if they need to solve there problem bad enough.

I believe you can get alot of traffic (views) but it also has to do something with the content of the video as well.

2 important things (targeted viewers) and the content has to be for them. solving their problem. Giving back.

YouTube is Social. It's like advertising on MySpace or FaceBook or Twitter. You need to build a relationship with the people first, and then try to offer them something.

YouTube is useful for building up authority for your videos as the advertising costs can be very low per click. Compare this to a video that is not advertised which can take much much longer to get the same amount of hits if at all.

Building authority with your YouTube vidoes helps build authority with your business which helps with Google.
