A Dentist can pull only so many teeth/day

When I was young, my Father use to tell me:

"A Dentist can only pull so many teeth in a day"

He explained that if your hands have to touch every product you sell and produce, there is a limit to what you can earn.

I actually asked my dentist what was the most teeth he pulled in a day. He told me 14 teeth. What could he have earned that day after paying for all of his staff and overhead? I'm sure it was a tough day and I'm sure I have earned more on my best days with SEO lead generation.

    Somebody has to do the work. The problem with our society is it is so top heavy. Everyone believes they can get to the top so they don't look at the reality of every day earning.

    There is only so much room at the top. But if our economy were not so top heavy everyone wouldn't be so focused on the Top because there would be more wealth spread around.

    When one spends all their time chasing dollars they are too busy working to enjoy life. Life isn't about the money.

    You are on a planet hurling through space that could be snuffed out at any time. You have maybe 75 years of "life"... 25 of which will be spent sleeping.

    So if you can't put your "work" in perspective, then you'll miss the entire point.

    Lou- with all due respect, I think that some here are taking this too literally.

    I also am not knocking hard work. It took a ton of work to get to #1 in G for a big money phrase (a few years ago). Once the work was done, I was able to sit back and rake in the profits.

    For those that don't get the point- this will clarify it:

    Let's say you are a dentist with a nice pratice and you worked your ass off and made $175K in a year. What is the chance that you can double your income the next year? Zip. IM'ers double last year's number all the time.

    I think that the point is that the dentist is trading time for money. If he doesn't work, then he doesn't get paid. People who take the time and the effort to learn internet and network money can make money any time they want. It is called leveraging your time...........
