Am I missing something or are there no affiliate programs (scripts) that do this...

OK... After weeks of searching I am asking for help.

I am looking for an affiliate software that will do the following. It seems pretty basic to me but it is something that seems to have been missed.

I want a script that allows me to create different affiliate groups and assign specific products to those groups, so the affiliate can only sell what is in the group. The products can be assigned to multiple groups if you want also.

Am I looking at it wrong or did everyone miss the boat on this feature.

Thanks for your help... You guys rock.

DELAVO can EASILY do that. It was designed for it.

      Hi Reindhart

      I plan to do this:

I want someone who have a product can apply their product to be sold through my website using a form.

I will recruit affiliates to sell that JV's products.

Then when someone buy through affiliate link - the affiliate, me, and the product's owner get commissions with the percentage that I've set before.

Is delavo's JV products plugin made for this purpose?

Another question, I think centralization can be plus point (for ease of management) BUT also can be weak point (if the server crash, all my website will not work properly). What do you think about this?

I'm considering RAP or DELAVO to buy. Still don't know which one to choose.

      Thanks

My membership software http://DigitalAccessPass.com can do what you're asking below.

There is a plugin called "Publisher Payments" which, on pay day, allows you to pay your affiliates, as well as the product's owner ("publisher").

All 3 get paid: Publisher, Affiliate, Site Owner (you).

Feel free to contact me for details.

          Hi Ravi,

I've looked at your DAP.com but i found "publisher payment" plugin is "coming soon". Will it be included to DAP if I purchase it?

          Thanks

Normally, it is sold as a separate plugin. But since that seems to be the main reason for your signing up for DAP, I will give it to you for free after you've signed up.

    Hi Reinhardt...

I just came across it yesterday. But detailed info about it seems to be lacking.

Or maybe I looked in the wrong place.

    Any suggestions.

    Thanks for your time.

Joe, you can probably configure RAP to do that. Have you looked into that as an option? (turn OFF the global affiliates, set up multiple products, and then use something like a blog to funnel them through a single page where you group the products.)

The only hassle is they'd have to sign up as an affiliate for each product you want them to promote. IOW, you'd have to treat each product as a separate product.

The trouble is, the notion of a "product" does not map neatly to anything else. Web sites are not "product oriented". Nor are web pages or even "affiliates".

You might try iDevAffiliate and see if that does what you want.

BTW, I've got a license for Fantasos that I'll happily sell. I have not used it. You can get an upgrade to Delavo with it.

Sagesound... I have looked at Idev... I could not see how to make that work.

I have RAP and have thought about that but I have had more instances thatn O would have liked to have where it was too unstable and had to take care of people because they were not sent to the proper pages.

I will look at it again though.

I just started looking at Delavo dont know much about it yet. PM me with a price on the Fantasos if you dont mind.

    Hi Joe,

Our affiliate membership platform, the MLM / Powerlines Modular Multi-Program Network Creator, AKA The "Ultimate Cash Cow", can easily handle this.

The way to do this (in our software) would be by using our Automatic Web Store, which supports setting up multiple store fronts. Those could be set per program, and groups could gain their status by having them join a particular program/store, which in turn gives them the right to make and earn commissions, down 5 levels deep in that store. Commission levels and prices are set per product, for maximum flexibility.

You can even sell complete stores to your members, and allow them to assign their own products for sale, and run their own affiliate program, assigning commissions up to 5 levels deep, assign by product.

You can learn more here: Membership Software, MLM, 1-up, 2-up, 3-up Powerlines

    Thanks for your time.

    Jim

PS - Good luck in your search, either way! :-)

    Hi Joe,

Depends what system you're running it on - i.e., wordpress? or do you want a membership site specifically?

There are a few that might work if you are using Wordpress:
DigitalAccessPass, WishList Member, and there was another but I can't think of its name.

I had been researching something similar last week - chose DigitalAccessPass for what I needed.

But - if you want something outside of WP, then go to Hot Scripts - The net's largest PHP, CGI, Perl, JavaScript and ASP script collection and resource web portal. and search under affiliate program scripts.

PHP Affiliate Programs | Scripts & Programs | Hot Scripts

Here's some that I've used that you can find from that site:

JRox - pretty good, does everything you want probably - the version I have was a bit of a bear to get going, but they had good support. (Fast responses). They've since upgraded it... I didn't upgrade mine.

Omnistar looked great - for one of my sites but I used iDevAffiliate for that one. iDevAffiliate is pretty good - great support too - but maybe not what you want for separate affiliates.

Word to the wise: Stay away from ANYTHING by Alstrasoft (Affiliate Network 8) - really bad support, horrible working scripts both in my experience and others.

NOTE: NONE of these are affiliate links, just my experiences - trust me, I've researched and tried many lol.

(Others are older - UltimateAffiliate is a good one but no support anymore as its older, and WSR from Envex WAS great, but Matt (the creator) sold it to someone, and they jacked up the prices hugely - and totally crazily. From my experience with WSR, you can find better / easier to set up software for less.)

    Amber
PS - I like RAP too - but keep it to specific sites only.

    Joe,

I think you're looking for a feature that is highly specific to your needs, and I doubt if you will come across software that will let you do this on basically one web site (not multiple sites selling multiple products). If you do, then it'll probably be missing other things that you need.

It is highly unusual for a merchant to say that an affiliate can only promote certain products on *A* web site.

I can understand if you have different niche sites, selling different products. And you don't want affiliates of one site promoting products on another site.

But on the *same* site, asking to be able to restrict affiliates to be able to promote only certain products, is not a good idea for attracting affiliates and super affiliates.

Say, I'm one of your affiliates in one of your groups. I work hard, spend time, money and effort in pre-selling my list/visitors, and send you qualified traffic.

And if they end up buying a product that is not 'assigned' to my 'group' and I don't get any credit for that purchase, I would be really upset.

Needless to say, I would not be promoting your web site if you're indirectly (and un-intentionally) stealing my commissions.

So not a good strategy, IMHO.

Maybe I'm missing something in your big picture here, so feel free to elaborate if that is the case.

I disagree this is a standard function of normal membership scripts... I know I have built thousands of them..
