Just wanna get everybodys take on submitting the same article to multiple directories...
does this effect the quality of the link?
or should u spin it for every submission?
should you only submit it to a few big directories?

I can see you are all new to the WF.
From time to time you could use the Search button (works best searching through the big G!) - when you are curious about a topic.

Honestly, I think you guys are overthinking this stuff. I take one article (non spun) and submit the h3ll out of it.

      Never had any problems whatsoever.

Now, IF you're worried that at some point in the future, people are going to start culling out duplicated articles, you MIGHT want to do some (light) spinning, but that's a lot of extra work for a "someday" risk.

And Istvan's link contains lots of good info.

I would spin it... I'm sure directories want fresh content

Well, I guess it depends on your definition of "fresh" or "non duplicated."

The internet ABOUNDS with (good, and quite acceptable) "duplicate content."

      Some examples include:

      * EVERY syndicated column in existence
      * EVERY article released by the Associated Press and Reuters (later picked up by WaPo, NYTimes, and all other print news outlets)
      * Lyrics, poems, stories, and discussions of same all reference the exact same "duplicate content"
      * EVERY RSS Feed in existence
      * Every tag and category on the 'net

and on and on and on....there's literally no end to the amount of perfectly acceptable duplicate content out there.

Then consider that, counting discussion forums like this, more than a billion new pages of content get added to the 'net every day.

      Every day.

So...let's get radical and say that you find a way to submit your exact same article to 1000 directories in a day (and we'll assume they all get approved immediately).

What's your 'net penetration? That is to say, how much (in terms of a percentage) of your duplicated content is now on the web (both in terms of "today's" new material, and in terms of the web in general.

You could submit the same article to a million different directories (assuming there even are that many) and still not even show up on the RADAR, and that is (in large part) why I think people fret over it far, far too much.

Besides...since the days of the Guttenberg Press, the whole IDEA behind print has been to make duplication easier (*queue images of monks hunched over parchment, copying everything by hand*).

Heck, you can't even send an e-mail without it defaulting to creating yet more "duplicate content."

It's part of how the 'net is put together.

        thanks for all the feedback
only reason i ask is because i have had directories reject my articles because of duplicate, and the same article goes thru on other directories.

From what im hearing its ok to submit the same article to a few of the big directories?

Bear in mind that if you submit your (identical) article to multiple sites on the 'net, yes, you are technically creating "duplicate content," but as per the examples above, a significant chunk of the time, that's okay, and in truth, google eats a fair bit of it up (ie - the main REASON blogs tend to rank better than static pages has lots to do with tags and categories, both of which create "duplicate content" on your site, but google adores it!).

This is fundamentally different than, say, failing copyscape because an article you submitted looks significantly like someone else's article.

There's no good reason to reject in the case of the former, but in the latter, the directory in question would just be covering their own
          hindquarters.

And yes, I submit the same article to LOTS of different directories.

            Hi

If you take the time Istvan is right. Check out the thread, if you haven't already. What you will notice when you do there's a lot of disagreement!

That's cool but here's what I often do if I'm only submitting something on articles for links.

I write some content. I spin the content. See 'jetspinner' it's free. Get jetsubmitter (also free) to produce 12 uniques (or near enough unique). check with dupecop (also free).

I put the first 1 on EZA - get it approved then post to the other 11 of the top 12 article directories using pen names.

This way I play safe with very little effort

You don't have to go overboard with this! If you're worried about dupe content this will get you past most of the obstacles.

            Regards

            Peter

I have to say i agree duplicate can mean good things. I submitted an article to ezine and it was published 13 times so that was 13 extra people using my article with my links and guess what one article led to me getting 50 hits per day! and 13 back links in google.
