Carry out better target audience research

I have a problem, and that is that I am only an affiliate of a weight loss product and, before creating creatives or Pinterest posts, I do a little research for 1 hour on internet forums. But no matter how much I research, I can't bring together the information I've collected with the target audience or maybe I don't know how to use it. How do you do research on your target audience To find out what they like, what their problems, fears, pains are, what goes through their minds before buying the product, what they are thinking that makes them want that solution or how to kill objections? How do you find a forum for this? Which social networks do you consider to be the most important? How do you carry out this research and how do you use the data collected?

Find diet products in Amazon. Com, read the questions and answers, if any. Then read the reviews.
From the good reviews, make a note of why they liked the product. From the others, what they did not like

Ignore the ones that talk about packaging arriving ripped and such.

After a few dozens, you will have a few good ideas for that product and one or two for the niche, in general.

    Just do competitive research, simple!

Weight loss is an old established niche... except you're creating some new ground breaking pill like "Ozempic" ... then you need to do all that extensive research.

As an affiliate, you need to simply be able to find where your competitors are advertising, then you'll see their ads, landing pages to incorporate into your own copy.

You can find dozen of competitive analysis tools by googling. Don't over think it!

Jump to Quora and reddit and you'll find all of your information there. Search your product there and you'll see the highlighted queries about your product.

Your target audience is people who want to lose weight.

You don't need to be a mind reader for any of this.

Pains are things like clothes don't fit, and whatever else
    overweight people worry about.

You find forums by using Google and you use the social
    networks that work for you.

You keep coming up with excuses that stunt your progress
and you need to get past all of these mental blocks.

Wanting to lose weight is at the evergreen level... no where near a "Target". Men over 40, or needing lose 10 lbs before a wedding, or dropping a few for the beach bod, or people with diabetes wanting to lose weight, or women over 30, or woman over 50, men over 50.

    Those are examples of targets.

The first thing you need to look at is HOW the product you are affiliate marketing is positioning itself. With affiliate marketing, you are NOT selling the product, you are PRESELLING the product, and then sending YOUR traffic to the affiliate offers sales page.

When I am looking to find a target or better yet a multitude of targets for the same product, I start looking at "demographics" in this case a search such as "women dieting demographic" will produce a number of results.

A page such as this: ( https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/products/da...0lose%20weight. } starts to give you an idea or target... between men woman and a couple of nationality characteristics.

A study such as this one starts to break down women 18 to 35 that went to college ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3430089/ )

There are tons and tons of these studies on any topic and every topic. I personally find it to generally be a very good place to start - to get an idea of what age, what sex, and what nationalities you might want to target. and once you understand these things, things like Facebook Ads become a whole lot easier.

    Hope that Helps!

Run a poll on social networks, with a reward. People enjoy taking them.

After doing your research, you should consider split testing your website copy using a tool like Google Optimize. This will be a part of your ongoing research as well and will help you improve your presell.

    Hmm.

    Embarassment.
    Frustration.
    Lack of sex appeal.

    Start with these.

You can drill down deeper (frustration at not being able to lean over one's stomach to comfortably put on socks).

But as has been pointed out, this isn't rocket science.

As an affiliate marketer, you create content (video, written, audio podcast etc.) that speaks to the troubles your target market is having. In that content you have a Call To Action that allows the visitor to sign up to your email list. This is critical, because you do not want to waste the lead by sending it on a one-time 'hop' to the offer's sales page...and then be gone forever.

You want multiple chances to send them to that offer page. This is the biggest mistake I have seen budding affiliate marketers make over the past decade plus.

What is the offer you're representing especially good at? What does the sales letter/VSL address most strongly? You might want to filter your audience by talking about the problems the offer's solutions fix. That way, there's a match-up between what you talk about and what they talk about. The prospective customer won't get confused.

As was said above, don't overthink.

Your job is to bring people in, warm them up, capture the lead, and send them to the offer page multiple times while continuing to warm them up between hop attempts. That's all you're doing. It's not rocket science. You are doing the job of filling the front end of the funnel. The people with the offer are providing the thing for sale. Keep it simple. Make sure you capture that lead in your process.

I apologize that I never respond to you but I am the type
of delicate creature that gets a headache if there are too
      many contractions in a sentence.

Like a literal headache where I have to go lie down until
it passes. Maybe take some aspirin and tea and eat a
      couple of blueberry muffins.

Your writings are interesting but for me they are mostly
unreadable because my brain requires clarity unless I
am doing a word puzzle or reading computer code.

So I have not been ignoring you to be rude or anything.

      I hope you understand.

  • Do a research on your target clients, it helps a lot to make a right decision. Next step is to find a good source of resources to use and it will help you to stable your business. And then you could learn all the technique about your specific business.

If you're using Pinterest to promote your weight loss products, you can also use Pinterest to do target audience research. First, know your target keywords, then type them in to the search bar of Pinterest and it will automatically show search results in the dropdown. Click any of the search results, particularly those at the top of the list, and see the pins that are being saved many times by many users. You can create pins like that as well. Make sure to include your target keywords as well in the pin title and pin description so that there will be a high chance that more people will see it.

Weightloss is one of the most popular niche with the highest TAM I think, i personally think there's so much data available on the topic but hold up, who visits internet forums these days?

This isn't 2014, the "forum" where you'd find wealth of insights is social media... tiktok to be exact right now!

If you're trying to reach a younger audience like Gen Z, fyi TikTok is not only for entertainment as we would think; it's also a search engine since TikTok shows relevant content faster than Google.

It has completely outpaced google hands down as the go to search engine for Gen Z and Millennials..

    Give it a shot...

You're on the right track by researching your target audience before creating content

Look at comments and discussions on weight loss related pages and influencers on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Some affiliate programs offer audience insights and research directly from the product seller.

Listen, Don't Just Read, actively participate in discussions. Don't just skim posts; pay attention to recurring themes, frustrations, and questions. Focus on emotions Identify the emotional triggers for weight loss desires.

Are they worried about health, self-image, or fitting into clothes? What are their fears about trying a new product? See what questions keep popping up. Are there common concerns about the product, side effects, or difficulty of use?

While researching, jot down key points, quotes, and questions, visually organize your research by creating a mind map with "weight loss problems" in the center and branching out to related topics and emotions.

From here you can then craft content that addresses your audience's specific needs, fears, and desires. Answer their questions and show how the product solves their pain points.

Directly address common concerns in your creatives and Pinterest posts. Show testimonials or success stories that overcome typical roadblocks.Use the language and emotions you discovered in your research to connect with your audience on a deeper level. Speak directly to their struggles and aspirations.Don't just focus on demographics like age and income. Dig into the "why" behind their weight loss desire.

While all social media platforms can be useful, some are particularly relevant for weight loss marketing:
Instagram is great for visually appealing content showcasing weight loss journeys and product benefits.

Facebook is Ideal for building communities and fostering discussions around weight loss challenges.

Pinterest is excellent for recipe inspiration, healthy meal ideas, and "before and after" transformations (if ethically done).
Consider paid social media advertising once you understand your audience better. Targeted ads can reach a wider audience who share the same concerns and aspirations.
