Unreasonable Facebook restrictions?

In a Facebook post can I not say, "Follow me NOW for more FREE information"

I put up a post containing that wording and Facebook pulled the post claiming that I am soliciting interaction.

That's crazy to me.

What's wrong with sharing four paragraphs of useful information and then saying, hey, you want more great tips like this? Then follow me?

So, are they basically banning calls to action at the end of posts? If so, their hampering their own value with what I can only imagine is miniscule perceived gain by their end-users.

What's wrong is it is 'soliciting interaction' and that's against FB rules. Does not matter if I agree or you agree or what anyone here thinks.

If you posted on this forum and said 'PM me and I'll send you free info' - your post would be deleted and you might be banned for 'soliciting interaction'. Not an unusual rule.

    Just observe the rules.

If people find your posts informative, interesting, and noteworthy,
they will follow you on their own without being told.

    It is human nature.

See what the competition is doing and emulate their strategy
    or figure something out.

Continue posting valuable content and you will be fine.

  • These days FB is harder on our business and that's why sometimes it's good to observe the rules. If your content is good enough, your audiences will look for more with or without those "soliciting interaction". There's nothing we can do about it. Maybe the best thing you can do is limit those kinds of CTA.

What is wrong with it is that it goes against FaceBook rules.

They have their own idea of what their platform should and should not be. Part of that is, do not say "follow me for more info."

The advantage to them is huge! The proof is in the pudding, that is to say, in the fact that they do not allow this and their platform is making Zucky tons of money.

FB want you buy their ads simple as that. I don't use FB much, Now a days they quite " sensitive " come posting in groups even you never spam. I know others also can make report to fb on your post even you also can on competitor but end of the day if your content is legit not scam FB will not remove your stuffs even others go report. Just recently I got my FB back been lock, Now a days like dam troublesome come unlock your account unlike the past. You send the ID etc yet well...I do post on social media section there mention my problems .Lucky within one week able to unlock my account. Now I don't post much on FB groups. Actually FB groups now a days people just spam around .

Not weird at all. A lot of platforms have this regulation. Just avoid doing it again and start posting valuable information that your audience can read. Make sure it's catchy. You can also include a link that directs to your site or target page.

You are wrong, on " make sure it's catchy " As this will trigger stupid FB bot to mark your content as Spam..

I just got one website post, FB claim Is spam, trying to get likes and follower. I was ?? I posting is a EDM content if you don't know what is EDM is electronic dance music. Is a content on one artist latest edm single and FB mark it spam , trying to get likes and followers.

I submit review , than they revert back. This is getting annoying in fact. I feel FB bot system is getting heywire , whereas spammy post , scam post are every where on FB whereas their system go restrict mark those legit content and post.

It does seem restrictive for Facebook to pull your post for that reason. Sharing valuable information and encouraging followers should be seen as positive interaction. Perhaps you could rephrase your call to action to make it less direct while still engaging your audience

    They don't like that.

They want things to happen naturally without you telling people to follow you.

    It is what it is.

It looks like Facebook flagged your post due to its policy against engagement baiting, which restricts direct solicitations for interactions like follows. Instead, you should share valuable content that involves a call to action, like "Stay tuned for more tips", to encourage organic engagement.

I agree with you, it doesn't make sense to me either. On one hand, Facebook is flooded with its own ads, constantly trying to sell me things I don't need. On the other hand, I can't ask people to follow my own Facebook group or account because it's considered too commercial.

Come on - imagine if YouTube started banning all videos that ask viewers to subscribe to their channel or like the video

    That would be completely absurd!
