Article Relevancy & LSI - A cheeky tip from Orson

Hello my fellow marketing friends,

This is my first post, so I thought I would contribute with a little sneaky tip that I discovered recently.

We all know that Google is getting more and more anal retentive about relevancy in content and site structuring when it comes to rankings.

So If you are concerned about how relevant your articles are for SEO purposes here's a quick and sneaky tip to see what Google may think of your site articles.

  1. Write an article or blog post in for your chosen niche website, article marketing page, Web 2.0 property, what have you.
  2. Get yourself a Gmail account or pat yourself on the back if you already have one.
  3. Email the first draft of your article to yourself.
  4. Open your email and have a look at what ads Google displays beside your article - Google will display a number of adverts along the right hand side of your email. Depending on how long your email is, it will display up to 6 adwords ads and a "More about (topic)" section.
  5. If the vast majority of the ads Gmail displays are relevant to your article topic/niche, again pat yourself on the back and go publish your article
  6. If you are getting strange and not so targeted ads, you may need to sprinkle some more LSI synonyms throughout your article (You could use the Google Keyword tool to help you with this).
  7. Repeat from step 3 downwards until you are satisfied that you have a relevant article/blog post
  8. Have a very enjoyable day.
Orse.
