How do you use QR codes for marketing?

I read a few old threads about QR codes on this forum and started thinking how much things evolved. Here we are in 2024, and honestly, they have become an incredibly versatile tool in my marketing strategy. I'll try to remember and list all the ways I use them:

- I place QR codes on product packaging to give easy access to product guides, user manuals, or how-to videos; I found that this makes onboarding easier.
- Outdoor advertising QR codes on billboards and banners lead directly to campaign landing pages, they capturing attention and I make sure there's a clear call to action.
- We put QR codes on company vehicles, turning everyday commutes into brand awareness opportunities.
- I use QR codes on event signs to share schedules, speaker info, and quick sign-up links, it's convenient and reduces paper waste.
- My digital business cards include QR codes, which make it easy to connect, exchange contact info, and especially follow up with leads.
- Inside our locations, QR codes on posters direct customers to exclusive deals or loyalty programs, boosting engagement right where they shop.
- We place QR codes on receipts or at service counters allowing customers to leave feedback instantly, which is super important for improving service quality.
- I add QR codes to our print and digital materials, linking directly to our social profiles, making it simple for customers to follow us.

I hope I'm not forgetting something. I got a lot of good ideas from Uniqode blog, that's the generator I use, and I just make the adjustments in suggested strategies to fit my particular case. Where do you get fresh ideas? And how do you use QR codes nowadays?

WE created a QR Code for our product label (physical) which can be scanned and people can register for product warranty. We use the information for email marketing our other products. Since our products are sold on amazon, we do not have a chance to promote our website . When the product reaches the customer, we ensure that they provide us with email address. We also give a free product (which depends on stock of Low value products) for those who review our Product on amazon..

    - I use QR codes in our YouTube/TikTok video shorts. For those watching the videos on a PC or Mac, they can easily scan the QR code and visit the site we recommend.

    - QR codes work well in Instagram posts. This way, we can direct visitors to relevant pages.

    - Use QR codes in classified ad images. This way, we can bring traffic to our websites without using any hyperlinks.

    Hope this helps,
    Ali.

10+ years ago, I had a load of gaming QR Code related domains. My plan was to advertise in the real world, on bus stand boards and similar, so people would scan them and get taken down an affiliate link to our gaming partners. We set some basic sites up and added QR codes to existing sites, but no one was really using QR codes much back then, and our tracking saw no activity on the links, so we gave up on it and I let all the domains slide. These days they're everywhere and I wonder if I was too early on the idea. Too late now...

You could try adding product recommendations or AR, and make loyalty programs simpler. New ideas come when you stay on top of trends and try new tools.
