YouTube Shorts as content strategy?

Is your agency utilizing YouTube Shorts as part of your content strategy? Given the high visibility and reach of Shorts compared to traditional YouTube videos, do you think it's an effective platform for engaging audiences and driving brand awareness? What kind of results have you seen?

YouTube Shorts can boost brand visibility by sharing engaging, concise content that attracts viewers, drives traffic, and increases engagement. So it can be used and it can really help as a content strategy.

Are you putting links to your website/business on the videos or do you tell people to go to your bio?

I think I might put a link in my shorts rather than hoping people will go to my bio and click on the link there.

Starting tomorrow, I will start adding links in the short itself and maybe even in the comments section of every short.

It depends on your goals and the outcome that you want to achieve. YouTube is like main stream TV so it's definitely a goldmine .

If I was you I would test YouTube shorts and longer form videos to see whichv1 is driving more traffic and getting you more engagement.

The visibility is high but in order to earn from youtube you have to make long videos above 30 mins with good content.

Short form content clearly has it's place but so does long form. With the consumer behaviour trend shifting from responding to ads to wanting to build deeper connection with brands, long form content is still very much the place to build that connection. Short form is great for grabbing attention (attention being the number one battleground!) but long form is more effective for conversion. This, of course, depends on your product/service but should hold true for most things. Best of luck

    As a full-time "YouTuber", I hate shorts.

Yes they'll get you some views and quickly help you gain some more subs.

However if you don't keep up with them, they quickly disappear into the internet abyss never to be seen again.

I much prefer long vids. They help me connect with my audience much better, and they tend to stick around in the search algorithms for much longer.

If you are willing to become a full time YouTube short maker, then they may be for you. However that's not me at all!

Yes brand visibility improves with YouTube Shorts as I myself get engaged with those. Instead of watching long videos on YouTube, Shorts make it time-saving for users to understand the brand intent.

    • Sounds like they're for CTR boosts. For capitalizing on intraday trends in the target community.
Incorporating a pulse vibe approach into campaigns with Youtube shorts looks like a good idea, if fitted to your use case (and motivation).
The technique's pliable, too. Think breaking news. Think alerts. In public affairs media.
Think auto-scrolling video feeds in Tiktok. Think ~140-character shoutouts in early Twitter. Think clickbait headlines in ViralNova. Think shock visuals in 4chan.

I tried that by creating short videos about internet marketing tips, etc and since l was also using adwords at the same time Google got narky at me about one or two videos, and l was forced to remove them.

Pretty sure one was about Frank Kerns PLR e-book infringing some copyright even though l legitimately bought it and had the rights, but if Google says remove it you have to comply.

Google has a large rule book and you have to study it and make sure you don't break any of their rules as like other places there are no second chances or warnings just punishment!

I hate shorts. Never look at one. Some people do. You need to figure out what your ideal customer does with them. Best way to go forward? Test a couple for yourself.

Definitely! We've been using YouTube Shorts, and the engagement has been way better than traditional videos. It's a great way to get more visibility and attract new audiences. Still experimenting with content types, but so far, the results have been solid! Have you noticed a difference in your reach?
