I have Photoshop CS, was wondering if any of you knew how to create a DVD cover, for a product.
Thanks!

If you dont know how I would recommend using photoshopactionscripts (dot) com. It might be a little pricey but within two clicks of your mouse you can have a dvd cover ready.
Graphics is a major aspect in Internet Marketing and if your graphics aren't on point then you wont do as well! So keep that in mind to stay professional as possible.

Also, you can do it the hard way and go over to Youtube to look at tutorials.

I think you'll be needing what is called an action script for this..

    Google it

    Peace

p.s. YouTube has videos for this, but I still think the action script is required.

You buy some scripts designed for Photoshop called Action Scripts. There's a type I use for all my projects called EcoverGO (please google it up) and that does all the work for you. I believe they also come with tutorials so you can learn and design at the same time. You can see some samples of these scripts at work in my WSO link below.

When you go for action scripts, make sure they will work in your version of Photoshop. I have an older version for which I purchased some scripts, only to discover that they were incompatible.

But action scripts are certainly the way to go. If you find a good tutorial, you can create your own action scripts.

Are you talking about a cover for displaying it on your website?

You can probably search for PSD templates out there without the need for action scripts.

If you don't know how to do them from scratch you would want to use a photoshop actionscripts, or you can also hire a ecover designer there are plenty of them here on the forum who do amazing work at really reasonable prices! But for the most part I would recommend looking into some actionscript packages... I use 1clickcovers or coveractionpro those are the most common used by cover designers. there was one other blackbeltcovers thats really good and has some unique actions as well.

I'm lazy, so I purchase action scripts rather than design them from scratch. There are several good ones/packages available online. Just do a search - check the link in greenovni's post above...
