Can I manage all my niche sites with DL guard?

I'm getting ready to make a purchase on something like DL Guard or Ejunkie or what have you but what I'm looking to do is this:

For security reasons, and to protect my download pages I plan on hosting all of my digital files on a completely separate domain that is specifically for products, no site at all.

i.e. I may have a dog training site, a fat loss site, a stock site, etc... All of the products, though, will be hosted and downloaded from www.mydownloadhubdomain.com so that if anyone tries to crawl my niche sites or find back doors, the files just plain aren't there for them to find...

Can I install something like DL guard on mydownloadhubdomain.com and use it to manage ALL of my niche products or do I need multiple licenses per product or what? And what if I want to run a membership site as well, obviously that would have the content on the main domain, would I need another license for that?

Also, can anyone give me a good reason why what I want to do above is a BAD idea?

Thanks in advance.

Don't quote me on this, but from their website's features page, it seems like you can...

Speaking from experience, yes you can do what you're talking about, and DLGuard was designed with that type of security in mind. You install it on one domain, and manage all your sites from that one install. I've been using DLGuard for several years. It's a top notch script.

    mr2monster,

this is exactly what i do. My DLG install is on the same site where my downloadable files are.

You also do not need an extra license per product

Actually, you can install DLGuard on any domain and use it for all of your products, even if your products are scattered all over many domains. I have DLGuard installed on a domain that I don't even use right now, and have over 80 products, all from different domains utilizing it. For each product you list, you give it the url of the product, so it's not necessary that the product exist where DLGuard is installed.

Yes, you can use DLGuard to sell fron many domains, and for as many products as you like. You can also set up a seperate Thank You page for each product.

    But it gets even better!

It controls access to membership sites too, and your licence also allows you to install DLGuard on 2 different domain names.

    cheers, Eric G.
