The most successful traffic method!

Hi Warriors,

your experience is needed. :-)

What is your most successful traffic method?
Not asking for theory, but only for what you actually use and have good results with.

To get the ball rolling: My preferred traffic method is SEO for google.

My most trafficked site (not revealing the URL) gets between 60.000 and 70.000 monthly visitors from google.

What do you do to drive traffic?

SEO is going to be the only long term strategy. EZA can work for some long tail keywords, but if one wants to rank for competitive terms then SEO efforts can't be underestimated.

After all, traffic will only come when people know about it.

Article marketing, particularly with Eza.. They are the best source of traffic from an article directory.. And moreover, it's targeted traffic, even better!

PLUS!: You even get to "pre-sell" them before they go to your site! That is, if you know how. (Definitely not entirely "expert articles, although a little specialist info got to be within.)

If you are ready to pay high amount, PPC advertising can give you targeted traffic.

If you want free traffic, then Yahoo answers is the best for getting targeted visitors.

I've to agree! I've used Yahoo answers to personally get more than 15 leads just by answering 5-10 questions.I tracked the traffic so I know.As most of the questions are the same, all I did was copy paste the same answer with an intro like "Hi there buddy".. AND a conclusion such as "there you go.Hope those stuff will be helpful and check the links below for more info" .Then I'll put my links as reference!! That's all!!

It is correct that if you are NOT level 2 on yahoo answer your linked is not hyperlinked. First build your account to level 2 than you can post links. However, I think yahoo answers is too much hype as I didn't see any real conversion from it( for sales). Some have better luck with cpa offers. But you need to hide your traffic as many networks are not happy with spamming yahoo answers, really.

Like many things, traffic generation boils down to a trade-off. If you want to generate targeted traffic FAST, then PPC is difficult to beat. I've spent thousands of dollars buying clicks with AdWords.

PPC is great if you understand how to...

    1) Write compelling ads
    2) Choose keywords
    3) Build effective landing pages

However, if you want to drive traffic CHEAPLY, then blogging, article marketing, forum marketing, and YouTube are great. Sometimes free traffic is your ONLY option. For example, if your product is very low cost, then PPC is probably not a viable option.

For the long term traffic I use SEO, and it's the best long term traffic source, and by SEO I mean combining on-page SEO and all kinds of off-page SEO(link building with article marketing, video marketing, web 2.0 marketing, forum posting, etc.)
But when you need a lots of traffic fast, you need to think a little bit outside of the box, if you don't want to pay for PPC or PPV

      Thanks for your replies!

For some of the methods I wonder if they bring constant traffic?

If not, it might just be too much work for what I get back in traffic.

The beauty of SEO is that it works for a really long time. I have created SEOed sites maybe 5 years ago that still bring traffic through google although i did not do a thing since then. (I wonder how great they would be if I had worked on them continually.)

But many other traffic methods seem to bring traffic only 1 time at the exact day (or 3 or 4 days) when you implement them.

If you want free traffic, then Yahoo answers is the best for getting targeted visitors.
I did that some time ago, and although my answers were voted best I found that it only brings traffic on the very day I posted, or 1 day longer at best. It seems the questions do not stick, and so the reward for the work done is very short term.

My most successful traffic method is videos.
I can see that works with popular videos, but when I look for videos in the im niche for example, I see many videos with 0 views, or maybe 3 or 4 views.

So it seems, just posting a video to youtube is not enough. What do you guys do to get results from that?

Content based SEO works the best for me. Articles can go a long way and bring targeted traffic. Press Releases (about something newsworthy) are very SEO worthy too. I still use my social media avenues and try to make them something a little different. If you can get your personality across (assuming you have a personality!) with some humorous yet authoritative content you viewers will come back for more...and spread your link to others.

I'm using Facebook. I think a lot of people don't understand how POWERFUL facebook is for driving traffic to a website. Not only is the traffic fairly cheap, but you can target your user SO SPECIFICALLY.

Most people don't visualize there buyers: who they are, how old, what they do for a living, gender, kids/no kids, etc... Every product your either promote or develop should have the "ideal demographic" and Facebook gives you that opportunity to drive the ideal demographic traffic better then anyone else.

      Hi!

How are you getting Facebook to convert for you? Are you sending to a landing page or a Facebook page? I like the concept of Facebook Fan Pages, but you have very little control over analytics or even emailing to see who has opened it. Just wondering what your strategy is.

100% seo and almost all from Google of course. I get about 200 visitors per day on my top niche and have over a dozen keywords now on page one. Still trying to get a few more top searched phrases there. Couple more months and i will be. SEO takes time but if you stick with it you get all the long term affects. Pretty sweet to see your sites you started from scratch in the top 3 sometimes #1 spot for one of the best keywords in your niche!

    There's a few good one I like, they may not be the best.. but they are good;

    - SEO keywords using Google Trends hot topics. If you can rank for one of these keywords, you will probably see a lot of traffic in a short period of time.

    - Another would be JV traffic, when you have someone else promoting something of yours.

    - Third would be cheap PPC. A lot of people think of Google AdWords, but there's other very cheap PPC sites that can bring you good targeted traffic. Maybe not as much as Google, but cheaper.

Good traffic tips. I am really struggling with SEO so much. Just getting to know what to do. My question is this. If you just continue adding content over a long period of time can that help in the competitive niches. I am sure they must be optimized and I really not sure ho to do that. I can get the keywords, and sue them but then there is also things like linking and tags and I get lost.

Absolutely. By constantly adding content you achieve several things:
      - you get more and more text that SEs can index.
      - SEs give your site higher importance because you update it frequently
      - visitors will start to come back to your site
      - visitors will naturally start posing back links to your site, as they see that you provide lots of useful content on the topic

All given that you publish original, good content.

Linkbuilding by the way is not hard to do at all, just take it step by step.

There are hundreds of ways to do it, many of them free.

depends by what you mean by most
    successful.

If you are thinking about the number
of visitors you can't beat PPV. The traffic
can melt down your server in half an hour.

If you are thinking conversionwise than
    for me is:

    1) PPC
    2) Article Marketing
    3) SEO

    I haven't done video marketing but I
don't think it can do better than the
    first 3 mentioned.

Have I told you guys I like EZA?

side note : I thought that article writing would be hard. I Googled my long tail keyword and took a page full of notes thinking that I would be using them all. Once I got started, it just started flowing with out looking back to my notes.

Friend adders work well if you have an active membership base as well adding in a tweet people can post and claim some type of reward after doing so also works great for spreading your name, picture and links back to your pages. Viral will get you much more targeted traffic then SEO will. Keywords are getting harder and harder to rank for as more people become more SEO savvy
