Tipps and Tricks on how to do B2B Marketing? Is LinkedIn Good and should I invest in Google Ads?

I'm new to B2B marketing and have no prior experience. What are the best strategies for generating high-quality leads without a big budget? Which channels or tactics would you recommend for a beginner? I currently need to do a Marketing Strategy for a company but I do not have any experience. We specialize in global consulting and our clients are startups and companies looking to expand internationally. I thought about going on LinkedIn, any Ideas and Tipps?

Starting with available data is a good idea.
    • See recognizeable patterns and correlations in your customer data for the past 2--3 years?
** Doing that helps drive more strategic decisions on your part, in terms of analyzing the profile of your ideal customers and relationships to your value proposition.

I mean, knowing where they hang out on the Web to talk about stuff that's relevant to your value proposition is a good start.
    • You'll be able to know what's happening there, ensuing dialogue, etc., essentially arming you with the knowledge to design your promotional campaign strategy.

LinkedIn? Yes, it works. But not for all use cases.
    • For my 20-year old small ecommerce marketing agency, we still manage to acquire our biggest clients in LinkedIn.
** But that's through a carefully calibrated combination of LinkedIn posts, active contributory participation in targeted LinkedIn groups, LinkedIn sponsored posts and ads, and of course -- LinkedIn INMail.

My process chain for this has always been:

    HOOK
    • Publish LinkedIn posts with compelling opinionated critique about trending conversations in the target niche community. The objective's to place your brand in front of targeted eyeballs at the time they're thinking about related stuff ...
    • Participate in relevant recent conversations across targeted active LinkedIn groups. The objective's to position and establish the reputation of your brand as a helpful expert resource of valuable content, meaningful insights, envigorating ideas, and so on ...

    BAIT
    • Publish LinkedIn sponsored posts with more value. The objective's for this content to effectively show your brand's authority expertise in areas relevant to your ideal customers ...
    • Run LinkedIn ad campaigns, small ones to test at first, then decide what to do next based on test results (kill for rejuvenation, banishment to oblivion, or scale, etc.) ...
    • Target the LinkedIn groups where your brand's been focusing on for your LinkedIn sponsored posts and ads. The objective is for your ideal customers in those communities to pay much more special attention when they see your ads and posts because they already know your brand, way much, much better than the uninterested attention they usually give to stranger brands.

    SINKER
    • Send out carefully crafted LinkedIn InMails to your target individual prospects (from your active participation in your target LinkedIn groups, or even outside of it and just based on your profile sourcing searches in LinkedIN, for example) ...
    • Continue conversations in LinkedIn. Book presentation meeting. Try to close with brief, renewable pilot arrangement ...

That's what we've been doing not just for my agency, but for my other small business initiatives here and there, though of course, only when LinkedIn makes sense, i.e. For some of my other ventures, prioritizing programmatic SEO is a much better idea to get higher value yields from low cost investments, but that also doesn't work across all use cases.

I hope this helps. Best of luck!

If you have no experience, getting tips and tricks from
forum posts is not going to help you.

You need to take a course, read books, and gain the
necessary business experience and knowledge by
    trying different strategies for yourself.

Lead generation is an industry, and B2B marketing is
a separate one, so you have a lot to learn.

Using LinkedIn could work for you, but you need to
know what you are doing there as well.

Good luck with whatever you attempt.

If you're just starting with B2B marketing and have no experience, LinkedIn is definitely a great place to begin. Since your company specializes in global consulting for startups, you should focus on networking and thought leadership. If you ever decide to scale with paid traffic, MGID can be an option for native ads, but I'd recommend focusing on organic growth first. Hope this helps!
