I Proud to be an IMer

Hey warriors recently i have read many threads like "what should i tell others about my business" or "my friends dont understand what i do" I mean all these things mean that most of the people all over the world dont even know about IM forget about cashing from it.

All this make me feel proud and special it makes me feel somewhat superior thinking that i know a secret industry to make good living which almost 85% of people dont know about.

It makes me feel almost laughable that most people even dont know that whenever they click an add they are generating money for we IMers and they call us geek and stupid, Funny isn't it?:p

I think IM is a niche in itself and one of the most profitable one at that. It takes a special kind of insight to see the potential and possibilities that IM can bring, and not everyone has that ability.

    Lucky us, eh?

There's nothing to feel superior about - they probably all know things that you don't.

If you're getting called geek or stupid - that's a separate problem, you might want to look at why you're getting that feedback

Knowing about IM isn't anything special in itself anyway - 'most' IMers are not making any more than a guy working at any fast food restaurant for minimum wage. They're just kidding themselves that it's bigger than it is. There are probably plenty of IMers who've spent way more money than they've made too.

You can feel good if IM is bringing you the lifestyle you desire, but feeling superior just says something about you, not them.

As for the comments like "people don't understand what I do" etc. - that's a communication problem and not for the people you're trying to tell.

Unless you're trying to sell them your products/services - who cares whether people understand what you do? It's probably better that they don't.

The fact many people would consider being an Internet Marketer in the same way as a sleezy car sales person also says things about the way many people do IM.

It's not some secret special thing that's cool to be a part of - it's just a bunch of activities like many others with the benefit that you can combine your passions with your income.

And it's a slow road, too - full of setbacks and issues. IMers are, in many cases, gambling... and sometimes they lose. Whether it's draining your bank account with PPC fees without generating enough sales to replenish it (been there), or driving affiliate sales without sufficient reserves to last until the checks go out (done that), or just plain overestimating the sales that will come from your new product (got the t-shirt) - IMers, like all business owners, have a whole new class of problems that the rank-and-file employee never needs to worry about.

There are an awful lot of small business owners out there who are living on macaroni and cheese because all the revenue has to go straight back out the door to pay for running the business. But for all the worries and problems it brings... most of us wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes - some of US are making a good income from IM.

But blowing smoke up our backsides and patting each other on the back is nothing but an ego trip - and a waste of time.

I don't think myself proudly. I have friends that are making 6 figures a year in offline business.

Both offline and online business are lucrative. It depends on whether you have the skill to make money. My friends have the skills to close deals in the offline world, and I have the skills to close deals in the Internet world.

I have a friend who tells me now and again that I'm cleverer than him because he can't do what I do (because he thinks he can't - no other reason). He drives great big HGV lorries up and down the country for a living, while I can't even drive a car in a straight line. IM would not be a lot of good to me if he and others like him stopped delivering to the supermarkets etc. I would be too busy sitting here starving or outdoors doing the hunter/gatherer thing and trying to slay a passing loaf of bread. I don't think any of us can claim superiority, and I wouldn't want to. I imagine you'd soon get lonely.
