We all know that driving traffic is crucial in internet marketing. Recently, I learned about Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), which involves optimizing content for AI tools like ChatGPT, CoPilot, and Gemini. Has anyone here been working on this type of optimization? If so, what is your strategy? I would appreciate it if you could share your insights.

I've been working with AEO for the past few months and have seen some interesting results. My strategy includes:

Structuring content in a Q&A format, especially in FAQ sections. AI likes clear answers to specific questions.
Attention to factual accuracy and relevance of information. AI-powered search engines prefer verified, authoritative content.
Using schema markup to help AI understand context.
Working on natural language -- AI systems are getting better at identifying content that is written specifically for humans, not algorithms.

So far, the results are encouraging -- I've seen a 15-20% increase in organic traffic for pages where I've used these techniques. But this is still an experimental area, and I'm continuing to test different approaches.

I've been experimenting with AEO and it's been working decently. Focusing on Q&A formats, keeping content accurate, and using schema markup seems to help AI pick up the right stuff. Keeping the tone natural also makes a difference, AI's getting better at spotting forced content. Still testing, but it's looking good so far.

AEO is a form of SEO, so do both.

Always do as much as you can, especially if you are relying on organic traffic.

No offense newbie, but it would probably be better if you conducted
your own research so that you can learn what it is you want to know.

Use one of the A.I. deep research tools, most of them are free.

If you have specific questions, post them here.

You are welcome and thank you, but I don't actually operate on luck.

I've been MMO for 25 years and I don't post many questions on forums
other than asking people about their procedures.

I take the time to get first-hand knowledge by reading books, watching
videos, and learning by doing, the same things that I tell people to do.

In other words, I learn new things and I actually do them. I wish I could
tell you more but most of my methods are proprietary.

And that is why I am able to come on here and drop legit knowledge
and advice on noobs and other people.

If you're too lazy to research readily available information and learn
things for yourself, you will have a difficult time finding success.

This is intended for anyone who reads it, not just you.

Choosing between SEO and AEO depends on your specific goals and audience. If your aim is traditional search engagement, SEO is critical. However, as voice search and AI-driven results grow, integrating AEO techniques will become increasingly important. Thus, a comprehensive strategy that combines both may be the best approach moving forward.

Yeah, AEO is getting more important now that tools like ChatGPT and Gemini are being used to pull answers straight from websites. I've started focusing on writing super clear, concise answers to specific questions, using simple language, and structuring content with proper headings and schema markup. It's kind of like SEO, but instead of ranking in Google, you're trying to become the source AI tools pull from.

  • SEO and AEO are evolving rapidly, and it's fascinating to see how search engines are prioritizing user intent and AI-driven optimization. Adapting to these changes can give marketers a strong competitive edge. Looking forward to more insights and strategies from experts in this space.

Unlike traditional SEO, which focuses on ranking in search engines like Google, AEO is about structuring content so AI models can easily understand and provide it as a top answer.

AEO is definitely gaining traction as AI tools reshape search behavior. My approach focuses on:
Conversational keywords - Optimizing for natural-language queries (e.g., "How do I fix __?" instead of short-tail terms).
Structured data - Using schema markup to help AI parse content for featured snippets.
Authority signals - Citing trusted sources (studies, .gov/.edu links) since AI prioritizes credible info.

Would love to hear others' tactics--especially around Gemini's recent algorithm preferences!

Both SEO and AEO ensures answering user queries. So optimizing your content according to user queries and answering PAA questions on your website content, will help your page rank better on serp results.

Instead of adding FAQ section, try to addressing common PAA questions and user queries.

Google "reddit scraper" for tools that gather information.

You can also ask ChatGPT for FAQs on various topics.

Spend a few minutes each day learning something new

Better, please check the questions manually in google. Change your targeted location in google settings, then search your keywords, you can see multiple user queries in search bar drop down and also you get the get from people also ask question section.

Like this way please search for all your related keywords to gather all possible relevant questions.

Let me tell you something from experience. I've been working in digital strategy for a while now, and this shift from SEO to AEO is very real. Back when I started, it was all about stuffing the right keywords, optimizing meta tags, backlinks, and maybe a blog post or two with 1200 words and a catchy headline.

But things started changing, slowly but surely.

I remember this one client -- we had their website ranking on Page 1, but their traffic wasn't converting. That's when I stumbled onto AEO [link removed by moderator] Honestly, at first, I thought it was just another buzzword. But when I dug deeper, it clicked: Google isn't just a search engine anymore. It's an answer engine.

People don't type "best running shoes 2024" anymore. They ask, "Which are the best running shoes for flat feet in 2024?" -- super specific, conversational, human. And if your content doesn't answer that, you're out of the game.

So now, when I create content or optimize a page, I don't just think, "What keyword do I want to rank for?" -- I think, "What exact question is my audience asking, and how can I answer it better than anyone else?"

    In short:

    SEO helps you rank.

    AEO helps you connect.

And honestly, the future belongs to both -- but if you're not doing AEO, you'll start falling behind.

Hope that helps someone out there thinking the same!

No offense... just tryna make up my freekin mind whether this is serious or not? lmao

I'm leaning towards... A.I.D.A. (Attention-Interest-Desire-Action) You can use the already existing best practices and human psychology to drive traffic and conversions.

AI can definitely help you map that out and walk you through it step by step.

So... maybe your saying don't over think it? Just curious...

TBH I've been looking into AEO too, and I think it's really important now with tools like ChatGPT and Gemini.

In my opinion, the best way is to write clear, simple answers to common questions. I try to use natural language, short sections, and make the content easy to scan. It's all about being helpful and direct.

  • Three things I've learned in my research, if it's helpful! (been doing some digging recently).

    1. SEO is a ranking game, AEO is winner-take-all
    - With SEO, you want to get ranked in a top group of results. AEO is about being the single answer the engine chooses.

    2. SEO is increasingly driven by AI as well
    - AI engines now inform search engines more and more.

    3. All this means that both are important and work together, hand-in-hand
    - SEO still involves a lot of keyword optimization, linking, etc. - all the classic stuff
    - AEO revolves around optimized snippets (40-60 word text) and structured information (schema markup).

I'm still learning - I think we all are - it's an interesting area.

I had not really thought about the game theory difference between the winner-take-all game and the ranking game before now - that's very interesting, and worth thinking about.

And of course - if you ask AI, I'm sure AI could help you get started optimizing for AEO...I tend to use Claude (3.7) . The coding is fantastic if you're looking to make actual page updates.

I've been diving deep into AEO lately, and honestly, it's starting to feel like a cheat code alongside classic SEO. While SEO's all about rankings, keywords, and driving traffic, AEO is focused on giving straight-up answers that AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and CoPilot can easily pull. My game plan? Break content down into clean Q&A formats, keep it conversational, and aim for that sweet 40-60 word range to hit those featured snippet spots. I'm also layering in schema markup (think FAQPage or HowTo) so search engines and AIca n actually get the structure. Sure, AEO might not flood your site with traffic, but it brings in seriously qualified users and boosts visibility in voice search and those zero-click results. In my experience, mixing SEO with AEO makes your content work double duty, strong in both traditional search and the AI-driven future we're sliding into.
