Using your BRAND NAME as main keyword/metatag instead of generic terms?

Here is something I'm a little conflicted by and need some enlightenment.

When you are doing SEO, which would it be better, to try to optimize your brand name or the generic terms your brand is about?

For example, if I came out with a brand of golf clubs, called SidTech, should I focus on SEOing all my websites, blogs, and web 2.0, the keyword SidTech or golf clubs?
#brand #generic #keyword or metatag #main #terms

Untill you are branded no one is going to be searching for SidTech so you want to go for your niche's "keywords" when dealing with SEO. Plus, since this is a unique name your site will most likely turn up as #1 for that Name with little effort.

  • If you can research product launches and how to create a buzz, then yes, you can optimize for your brand. Until then, you should optimize for the niche and the keyword. Why optimize for something no one is searching for?
