Article Marketing - The Very Basics Please

(Ok, I'm new...)

I've been reading a bunch of threads here and other places and I am CONFUSED. Can someone help me with the basics.

What does this this mean "Bookmark and ping your article"?

What are "linkbacks"?

Where do I put my "call to action"?

What is EZA? (I've seen people write this)

When I have an article, how do I submit it?

I read this on another thread "Link to your blog or what ever you want to link to..." how do I do that?

Where do I submit it? (I'm sure there are many ways, but I'd be happy with one) EzineArticles, is that one of the best?

Or, what is a good site to submit to many article sites?

Does anyone have a good example of a good article, with a nice "call to action"?

Sorry if this sounds simple, but I am brand new at article marketing.

    Welcome to IM boaterscott,

Those are some great questions and some of them are pretty easy to answer but the overall need here is a basic intro to IM and article marketing.

I am sure others will post their answers here but I would personally suggest you find a good course that will take you though the whole process and tell you about each of those things along the way.

Knowing what they are won't help you with what to do with them. There are some great warrior special offers here that can help, you can also find lots of free information all over the forum as well as the net.

One thing you could try is the 30 day challenge, I haven't done it but I know some others have had great success and it will give you the building blocks for IM.

EZA=ezine articles, they have a easy system for submitting articles and they will walk you through it.

Backlinking is the where you build links leading back to your articles, this is done in many different ways.

    Hope this helps somewhat,
    Best of luck
    Adrian

      Welcome to WF, boaterscott.

Article marketing can be great for relevant back links to your site (which help with your search engine rankings) and also for direct traffic (thats why you need a good call to action). There are MANY ways to skin this cat, so you need to pick 1. EZine Articles is a good tool, but there are many others as well.

You need to look at your articles as search engine 'food' to a degree. You can use your articles on your own site (to give yourself good content), on other sites, or distribute them from your site in an RSS feed. I would suggest starting out with 1 or 2 articles to some article sites within your niche with a good backlink to a page on your site. For example, if your niche is about cat food, write an article about low calorie cat food for overweight kitties. Create a group of related keywords; i.e. catfood, cat food, Science Diet, cat chow, etc. Use those keywords in a relevant page on your site; then submit your article and use one of these keywords as your anchor text in the backlink to your website.

Eventually, you'll need to find some good, reliable copywriters to help you.

Perhaps I'm slow...I'm still a little confused on how backlinks work -

How do I "use those keywords on a relevant page on my site? What is an "achor text"?
And I'm still not sure what exactly a "backlink" looks like and where do I put it in my articles?

Sorry for these basic questions, but I am new - but very willing to learn

Is it my website? My blog?

Bookmarks are social media sites that allows others to view your websites from other top ranking websites. I usually always add every article I write to multiple bookmark websites. I use socialmarker.com. Remember that you must make accounts to each bookmarking site before submitting anything.

I'll let someone else explain the ping to you.

An EZA is an Article of your own written for ezinearticles.com

Those are very powerful for getting strong backlinks to your site.
The more backlinks to your website from High Page Ranking sites the better you will do in search engines for your keywords or just in general. A back link is a link from another website that is active and clickable to your website. EzineArticle.com will feature your articles if your article shows authority, meaning lots of back links.

When you have an article written already you just go to ezinearticles.com and make an account and you click on submit an article.

These are some great Web 2.0 sites I write articles for to add my links to.

    Hiya mate...

Try not to get too caught up in the details. First just get some articles out there... then start to learn about bookmarking them or building backlinks to them...

You'll learn quicker and have experience if you learn as you go.... trust me!
