If you had 1,000 leads sitting in your CRM that never replied...
Would you try to revive them or just keep running new ads?

I've been thinking a lot about the hidden money in 'dead leads.'
The leads that already showed interest, but just never converted.

What if AI could pick up the conversation from where it ended?

No hard pitch here just genuinely curious what others think.
Would love to hear your thoughts

Leads for what? See, that would determine if any further action may be required. What makes you think there is any "hidden money" in dead (I take this to mean non responsive) leads?

As you probably know there are definite formulas used to determine the lifetime value of a customer, and from that point backwards, math will tell you if further action is needed.

My thoughts are: TIME. How much has passed? Was there any urgency in the initial contact which generated the lead? Money...how much? What is the value of the lead?

I have a lot more questions within my thoughts, but I doubt if they would be helpful. If all the lead was generated for was a conversation, then maybe AI could pick up the ball, it depends on what and how the lead was for and how it was obtained. What was the original INTENT of the lead capture?

Really great points, especially around timing, urgency, and lead value.

When I mention "dead leads," I'm referring to people who actually showed intent booked a consult, filled out a form, replied once then ghosted. Leads that already cost time and money to acquire but didn't convert.

You're right to ask "how much is a lead worth?"
That's exactly why reactivation works so well because you're giving a second chance to people you've already paid for. No extra ad spend, just smarter follow-up using AI.

      We prioritize leads based on:

      Recency and engagement history

Estimated value (e.g., service interest or form type)

And urgency if that data's available

Then, use personalized SMS or email to restart the conversation.

It's not about blasting everyone it's about identifying who's still warm and converting them without extra ad costs.

Appreciate you raising these questions. This is the kind of thinking that separates smart growth from just more spending

Totally agree prompt engineering is a super underrated skill right now.

It's like having a Ferrari but not knowing how to drive it... AI is powerful, but without the right prompts, it just gives generic fluff.

That's actually what we've focused on crafting tailored prompts that help revive real conversations with leads (not just blast cold messages). Once you get the messaging right, AI becomes a growth machine.

Appreciate your take it's a key piece of the puzzle most people miss!

Prompt engineering is dead because A.I. can write its own prompts.

            It's dead as a career.

Just like a number of other professions that
A.I., has and/or, will soon be replacing.

1000 dead leads really doesen't mean anything.

    Is this out of 100,000?

    Out of 10,000?

If it's out of say 2000, you have a problem that requires more thought than how to get them excited again.

So, your question really doesn't give much context.

Those leads already demonstrated intent so I would definitely try to bring them back to life. You could get more conversions for less money with the correct AI follow-up than with getting new ones. Sitting there feels like unrealized potential.

If someone showed interest once, they're not cold just mistimed. With AI, you can restart the convo naturally and I have seen businesses recover 20-40% of old leads doing this.

Happy to chat if you're curious how it might work for you.

Try to tap into these customers first.

Because they have potential demand for your products or services, but they just haven't converted in time, but generally speaking, the resurrection rate is often very high, and the cost is much lower than that of new customers.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11829286].message }}
  • That would make a lot of sense. reviving old leads can actually lead to a convert.
