Anyone Familiar with Special Text Boxes

My site looks good with latest firefox and latest explorer. Now I decided to check it out on google chrome and looks like crap. Checked with older versions of explorer and not looking good at all. Checked on 4 different computer and virtual xp and all looks the same. Looks good with fire fox on every computer.

The drop down boxes do not drop down. The color of the drop down boxes do not show. I have tried with shadow on and off, no difference. All the pictures are out of place since the drop down boxes are not showing up. All i see is the drop down title of the text that i have entered and the arrow to drop down but it does not drop down.

I have checked an online site checker and it seems it looks like nothing wrong with it. works 100% perfect with firefox and new version of explorer.

I have checked plug in home page for updates or fixes, none found.

Has anyone have this problem before and how can i fix this?

  • How do I change it. I'm not willing to change it. Perfect contradiction.

Make it work with the Browsers and versions of browsers that are most used then forget about it. Microsoft Chooses to use their own "standards" so no sites are ever going to look exactly perfect in every browser.

Well I guess I have to edit my post since people will take words out of context.

I am not willing to redesign my entire site. I will trash it and move on to another project and start all over with new theme and everything. However I am willing to change minor items dealing with this problem.

I was looking/hoping for information on a possible fix in order to repair the drop down boxes. Thought maybe someone here has had an issue with this in the past and maybe able to point me into the right direction.

I understand I want to make sure it works in the top browsers but explore and firefox are the main 2 but not many people updated to the newest explorer yet and feel I can miss out a lot of action. Like I said it works great with firefox and Only newest edition of explorer.

If you are going to invest time building your own pages, you'll need to invest time learning all the ins and outs of CSS. The cross-browser compatibility is horrible.

There are lots of approaches, but the one I prefer is to build it out in FF, then start fixing bugs in IE 7. I *sometimes* fix the bugs in IE 6, but more and more I'm learning to ignore IE 6 and let people use that browser suffer a bit if there are bugs. That browsers really wastes a TON of time.

A colleague of mine refreshes IE 6 & 7 after every single CSS change he makes to verify if he has broken anything.
