How on earth do you download Youtube videos can't understand yt-dlp

I have been at this for hours, I want to download Youtube videos and thought this would be easy, download to my PC but no, it seems I need so many apps like yt-dlp and I can't figure any of this out at all, tried asking chatgpt and I can't even understand that! When I try type anything on yt-dlp it just closes the app. Any help please I'm totally stuck with this, thank you. Maybe even a link to a video that shows me how, been searching for hours,

    You don't need an app. There are several sites where you can paste in the YouTube URL and download an MP3 or MP4 file. For example, this one:

    https://en.onlymp3.io/2/


    You can also install a browser extension/plug-in (I use Firefox, but I'm sure other browsers have them too).

    Wouldn't you just click the three dots underneath
    the video and select download from that menu?

      Thats what I thought but the course I have bought states to use a downloader app, I'll just try the dots, thank you.
