Hey,

For some reason, I am not getting many hits to my sniper sites which are #1 on google for many of the top gravity products on Clickbank. My sniper sites average around 3-10 hits per day even though they are ranking #1 for the top competing keywords for the products.

The majority of visitors actually click through my hop links, but then... no sales are closed.

The 10 that are #1 on Google's first page (yes for the product keyword), have made me 0 sales in the passed 4 days. This really annoys me because I was so happy to find myself above some the best marketers in IM.

I can't think of a better way to get targetted traffic other than #1 on the first page of google. So at the moment, I'm lost..

Any ideas?
#google

Those networks are great for getting traffic, and good for getting readers and even useful for getting subscribers. Most of the time, however, as far as getting buyers they are an absolute pile of ****e. In my most humble opinion, of course.

Just a quick question, how many searches are you receive for the keyword that you are targeting? It will be pointless to get number 1 ranking if there's no searches...

I think Winson has a point, before you start building backlinks on a particular keyword, you need to know how much traffic there is for that keyword.
Usually the number one site for a particular keyword gets about 5% of the total traffic estimated by most keyword tool. Keep this in mind every time you are getting into a market.

mmmm....that one could be alot of things....if they are reading your material and clicking through your hop links then it sounds like your selling them on your end....maybe the product owners site is too weak to make the final sell....I know that I've seen some pretty good sites that pre sold me on the front end but the product owners site wasn't too hot so I opted not to get the product after reading their info....

Yeah not sure how long its been going on for but some days in every kind of internet marketing you get the visits just no sales and other times conversions are crazy. Weird world!

Clickbank is just messy with tracking I think though so if possible try tracking yourself

They may have top gravity, but that gravity may be coming from huge lists that big marketers have. They don't rely on seo as much, when they can send several emails to their list and get them pumped to buy.

Also, gravity may come from lots of PPC sales, which is faster than search engine sales.

There may be a limited market for these particular products and most who wanted to buy, have bought.

Instead of just pursuing the top gravity products with no thought to it, try looking for products that solve a problem for people who are looking for quick solutions.

I agree with Fun To Write. It may be that the clickbank product does not really convert well with the searches that are being done to find your link. I have on sniper site that gets traffic but does not convert. Pretty frustrating. I am working on my 4th sniper site and trying a different product type. Keep trying til you get it right!

I can.... be #1 for targeted keywords that people are actually searching for.

Agreed. Especially when many consider a decent conversion rate to be 1:100

One other thing you might want to look at is:

Does the vendor have an opt-in page on the site? if so, you might be losing some sales that way.

Trixxie12, you wrote you are no1 for the "actual product name" - well consider this, if somebody is searching for the actual product name, they are usually looking for a review or a special bonus - do you offer a bonus? If not, why not? If you did, you would convert to sales a lot better. Just being there to be clicked on is not giving a benefit to the visitor at all, he/she already knew where to find the product (he/she knew the name!), so simply providing a "new link" to it is not doing the potential buyer any good.

Just saying - think about what you provide to visitors - be at service, not in "give me money mode"...

Judging by your traffic i'm guessing the monthly searches are well below par. As sellingonline quite rightly pointed out poeple searching for a specific clickbank product (i'm assuming you are talking about an IM product considering you mentioned out ranking many top IM'ers) are most likly looking for the best deal, such as %off or irresistable bonuses.

Would be interesting to see what monthly search figure you got when you did your keyword research!

Well, I won't go into my niche or the keywords, but the keywords were searched for atleast 5000 times a month.

I have just checked google and I'm not on page 1 anymore...

Gee, 4 days #1 for keywords that got searched between 5000-22k times a month and not one sale.

    Thanks again Google.

If you were getting 10 - 13 visitors a day in the #1 spot the search volume is not 5000 - 22K a month....

Sometimes Google *might* fool you with its "personalized" listing of search results - it can happen that "in reality" you were not #1, it just appeared on your Google listing on your browser since Google customized your search results.

      (Happened to me occasionally)

I dont know about the search volume for this phrase right now, but yes, no way you were #1 with a few thousands searches/month and hardly got any traffic.

Maybe the main volume of searches was for like "Affiliate Code Crack" or "Affiliate Code Download" or something?

according to my quick research i just did with MS (global)
      "Affiliate Code" gets 178 searches/day
and "The Affiliate Code" gets literally ZERO

Even the one with 178/day i would consider rather "meh", i myself like keywords with WAY more daily search volume. You wont make any sales with that.

The fun starts with 700++ daily searches (and low competition )

        Trixxie12,

You have to use exact match for your keyword research... Especially for the technique that you are trying to employ....

        According to Google KW Tool...

Affiliate Code -- gets 320 searches a month (global)....

        and

The Affiliate Code -- not enough data (which means none)

So there is your problem... Even if you rank #1, you arent going to drive much traffic.

A couple of things real quick....

You could get 200 visitors to your site a day and probably not see much in the way of sales.

Reason #1 - You link too early in the review

Reason #2 - The link takes them right to the vendors squeeze page

When a sales page is set up like that - you should always try to capture the lead yourself before booting them over to someones elses AR that you have no control over.

Just out of boredom i made a quick list of some "high gravity" products on CB,
google sniper, xtreme conversions, mass article control, etc.. and i run them through MS.

All those have basically NO significant search volume (even google sniper and other hyped products)...with the exception of

    fapturbo
    earth4energy
    fatloss4idiots

But all those IM products..forget it. Eg "Google Sniper" has only 24 global searches daily...mass article control has ZERO.

So.taking those product names for SEO and traffic is a bad idea.

Aside from what the others have pointed out, you need to consider that just about everyone else promoting this particular product is offering a bonus (in some cases a lot of bonuses). So a potential customer is going to shop around before choosing to buy from a particular webpage/affiliate. Being ranked number 1 is not enough. Have you got something that can compete?

Also, since sniper recommends looking at search volumes by "phrase", you probably thought that the keyword "affiliate code" would work fine since it gets 5400 searches a month. But the fact is the exact search volume is only 320. Now assuming this is accurate, the general view is that the no 1 spot gets 50% of all searches so thats 160 a month, divided by 30 days a month gives you roughly 5 clicks a day which is within the 3-10 hits you said you were getting. Can you see whats happening here?

    MS means Market Samurai, right?

I love that thing. Best (most accurate) keyword tool I've ever used.

Keep in mind that just because a product's #1 on CB doesn't mean it has a good sales page.

Having said that, I know the Affiliate Code page is KILLER... David Raybould wrote it and he knows his stuff.

Also keep in mind there are ways around vendors using squeeze pages... although these are generally designed to make you a sale.

One thing you can do is (with the owner's permission) host a copy of the sales page on your own server and make your own payment link... although this only works for CB products.
