And Finally After Over 1 Year...

Clickbank decided to pay me, and the worst part is I still did not not meet the CDR. I decided to email them a few days ago just to ask when I was likely to be paid and they said they would overide the CDR out of courtesy.

So god only knows how much longer I would have been waiting if I did not email.

I understand they have safeguards but over 1 year is ridculous. For the record it was only $400 ish in commssions.

Oh and my other problem now is what am I gonna do with a cheque or check as some might say, which is US Dollars ?

I remember some time ago getting a cheque in Euros or something and the bank said it would take weeks to clear with a number over priced charges on it plus the rubbish exchange rate. That would have been so much easier if it was sent direct to my Pay Pal.

All the more reason for having your own product and getting that cash pumped staright in to your Pay Pal.

Has anyone waited longer than me to get paid by CB and if your in the UK whats the best way to cash a US Check without losing most of it.

I am with Barclays. All I did with cheques is ask it to be done by negotiation and its usually in my account in a few days. No problems.

Each bank has different charges though. Barclays is 5% or something. I can't remember, only that it was the best deal.

Actually... if you cashed in at least 3x paper checks
from them, you can opt to have it directly deposited
    into your bank account.

That's why I lowered my payment threshold to the
lowest so they send me 3x paper checks before I
resumed it back to the normal payout thresholds.

Now they send to me directly. You can find the
link for that somewhere under your payment threshold
    options.

i've never had problems, and i work in a bank, so i get my USD checks converted same day, if they have a problem with the check they can find me easily. but it does suck to wait for cheques to clear. but a year seems ridiculous.

The best way to cash a US check, is to take it into the bank that your account is with.

i.e. clickbank sent you a check with your personal name on it. You take it to the bank that you have your personal cheque account with. That's the only way you are going to be able to cash the thing. Well not really cash it, but deposit it - which is part way there.

If it's a business account, then you are tied to depositing the check into your business account. And again, you will be tied to what your bank decides.

Barclays, hmm! anything to 6 weeks to 2 weeks, anything to % rate+flat fee too.
Loyds tsb, not much better - 1 hour at the counter explaining what it is, and then hoping they reach for the right form for it to be processed in 6 weeks...... if you are lucky.

It's not easy trying to get the Greenback into the Royal Currency! but it can be done.

Now you've gotten one cheque, lower your limit on clickbank to the minimum. Keep those next two cheques and frame them. (Yeah, I know it's like throwing a tennor down the drain) but it means you can go onto to direct deposit, no bank hassles, just straight forward payment into your account from then on.

Been there, done that and worn the "T" shirt.

Yes sounds exactly like what happened when an ebayer paid me a cheque drawn from a French bank account. When I arrived at the counter it was as if I had just come down from mars with it !

In the end I had to send the cheque back because it was not worth the hassle. I cannot believe in todays era they make such a fuss over foreign cheques.

Never had this problem with Barclays. They are the only bank that seem to know how to deal with the cheques in my experience and the money is always in my account within 2-3 days max.
