I'm curious, you have been on this forum since 2012. What type of marketing have you been doing?

I've had a bit of a winding path since 2012 -- some marketing, some unrelated work, and some big learning curves. Right now, I'm focused on creating a new Web site with WordPress, which is why I'm more active here.

      How about you?

I shift in moods, I have 3 Kindle products that I enjoyed creating, and occasionally receive a tiny royalty payment. I have items for sale on eBay and like putting up YouTube videos during the Summer. I do IM as a hobby, and have spent the past several months volunteering for two groups. One of the groups we spend the majority time writing postcards weekly for the elections.

      You too?

I had a few websites and this and that, but after ChatGPT
and all the rest of the AI tools became available I have been
able to develop so much more than I ever thought possible
and I just keep building more.

Anyone who says they cannot make money online has not
been paying attention, and the ones who refused to use AI
      have been left behind.

It still takes actual work, like copy/pasting, proofreading,
editing, etc. but it's about as easy as falling off a log.

If you can't create one or two products or do something
constructive every day, or a couple of times a week, you
      are just plain lazy.

For me content+SEO is the most exiting because one good piece of content can keep bringing traffic and results for months without extra cost.

For me SEO + AEO is the most exciting. Search is shifting towards Ai answers so optimizing for both Google and Ai feels like the future.

For me, performance marketing is the most exciting because you can test, measure, and scale in real time. Small tweaks can create big wins, and the data feedback loop makes the work fast-paced and rewarding.

  • The topic I am going to talk about here might be the most exciting area of digital marketing right now: data-driven personalization. Using sophisticated analytics and AI, it provides extremely precise and relevant content and ads based on each consumer in real time to boost engagement and conversion. Focusing on specific customers makes campaigns more effective and customer-centric in a brand-heavy, competitive digital environment.

In my experience, it has to be AI Search / Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).

Anyone who says otherwise might be missing the writing on the wall. We are seeing data that nearly 60% of searches are now "zero-click" because AI answers the user directly.

The shift from trying to rank for a keyword to trying to be cited by an AI as the "answer" is the biggest shift since the invention of SEO itself. It redefines the entire game.

For me, content marketing is a very interesting and exciting part of digital marketing. It's a place where strategy and creativity meet, you solve real problems for people and build trust. Things make exciting when the right message is shared at the right moment which genuinely connects with an audience and moves a brand forward.
