Start with keyword research. Find the buyers and what they search for. there are a lot of great threads on how to do it, but I find forums a great place to look personally. get several topic ideas, and check their search volumes. get yourself at least 30-40 to start with. you can get more, but that will take you a while to use up.

Then, plan out your site. Try to plan your entire layout before you begin. It will save alot of hassle in the long run. Next start writing. and writing, and writing. Or hire a writer lol.

You need to search this forum for keyword research and then use the free tools that Google has provided.

It may take a little time, but you will be learning along the way.

Select a long tail keyword (more than1-Word ) and purchase a domain.

There is free hosting available, or if you pay for 1year hosting many hosting companies will give you a free domain.

If you can afford $37 join the War Room and most all of the information that you want is there for free.

To find out what your niche is looking to buy or learn, try going to amazon and typing in your keywords and see what books come up.

If you can create a good info product to help solve your niche's problems, you'll be able to make good money.

Well I never think there's one set plan that suits everyone - but yes that's a good next step.

Download Market Samurai - I think you can get a fully functional trial which will help you find some buying keywords. Make sure you watch the videos properly first though.

        Good luck

No. The next step is to figure out what your niche wants.

Figure out what problem they want solved.

And figure out what they are buying already.

Then use that information and go for the buying keywords...

Yahoo Answers is another good place to research. You can find what questions people have about your niche and what problem(s) they are trying to solve.

i think i need to lay out a step by step process of what i need to make this thing successful...

what i have done so far:
        1. i have discovered a niche i have decided to enter
        2. have discoverd what problem people are looking to solve
        3. i have analyzed a few of the big competitors in my niche to see what they are doing and if they are making money ( i determined this by adwords campaigns and quality of website)

so now i am going to move onto keyword research.

        thoughts?

Do you have a product to sell them? (Not necessarily one that you create...but something that your niche is already buying)

Before you spend any time on keyword research which can help you with traffic, you want to be sure that you have a way to monetize it.

I might be misinterpreting what you have written, but it sounds as though you are considering creating a product to address this niche...because "you would guess they would be looking to buy a solution to their one problem"

Are there already products available that people in your niche are currently buying? If not, you need to ask yourself why not.

yes planning on creating my own product... great suggestion...how would i see about finding this out?
i guess if people are paying for adwords that would be a pretty good indicator right?
        any other ways?

Keyword research is certainly important but perhaps even more important is the number of competing pages you have in front of you for the common and popular keywords.

You don't need any special Google tools to determine this, only the home page of Google and the keywords. Do a search for the likely keywords and take note of how many competing pages show up in the search.

I read an interesting comment by a Warrior about this as well. He said something like this, I don't have to beat 250,000 competing pages. I just have to outrank four or five on page one. Maybe there's something to that. Good Luck!

    Let's get one thing straight...

    You don't need a niche...

    You need a PROFITABLE niche.

Don't look for a market... look for a PROBLEM that people will pay money to solve (HINT: people MUST be spending money on solving it already!).

Once you've done that... figure out what you can offer that's better than anyone else... or fills a need no one else has filled yet.

Once you do that.... THEN you've found a (probably) profitable niche.

ok found some pretty good keywords and obtained my domain with the keywords in it... so i guess my next step would be to start building a web page?
or should i create product first?
or is there more research that needs to be done?

any advice or constructive criticism would be appreciated

Exactly. Chances are if there are not already products being sold, the niche is not profitable.

You might want to check to be sure there is actual interest before putting too much time into creating a product. There are several ways to determine this...most every method comes down to determining whether people are spending money already.

If you are considering (which it sounds like) creating an info product, check to see if there are books being sold on Amazon and ebooks being sold in Clickbank.

I must agree with Troy. I choose a keyword first, find out if I can rank on Google's first page with that keyword. Then I find a product to support that keyword. And it works every time. That's because the keyword is your profit-pulling vehicle. Get the right keyword, throw your product in the wagon...and you're on your way.

    Have a great day.
