More context would be helpful but the best way to keep
clients from changing their minds is by not giving them
things to change their minds about, stop giving options.

So for example, if you are a website developer you give
them a choice of a site that is black and white, or blue
    and white, THE END.

You don't give them 15 shades of blue to choose from.

Choice A or B and that is all. Not A through Z.

This also applies to revisions. Let them know that you
can only offer one free revision, after that they must
pay an additional fee for revisions. This keeps people
from asking you to change "ands" to "buts," etc.

If you get a client that's difficult to deal with, impossible
to please, and too time-consuming, politely advise them
you can no longer do business with them, and move on.

    1) Get commitment to a statement of work IN WRITING. SoW includes description of their situation and expectations of what will be done and expected results.

    2) Get agreement up front and in writing that changes out of scope require a change order, and change orders are additional work...which are separate projects with their own scope of work and invoice.

The initial agreement is for THIS project and THIS work. Changes are additional to that agreement.

I'm sure we could trace your current issues to a loose agreement to work together.
