The Case of the Invisible WSO

Hey WSOer's. Have any of you got problems finding
your listing in the WSO section? One of mine should
be on page one or two, but do you think I can find
it? I've looked as far as page 6 with no luck. Using
my browser's find function doesn't find it either, and
yet, a direct link to the thread shows it's there.

Is this just me?

Click on your user-name over there to the left. Go to your "profile" click on the "statistics" tab. Click on "Find all threads started by Glenn Leader" and you'll see all the threads you have started including WSO's. If you don't see it listed there it must have been deleted and I think only super mods can do that.

      Hi Alan,

The thread is not deleted, I can get to it via a direct link. I've used my browsers find function
to search for my name on all the lower pages, up to and including page seven. I discovered
an older WSO there, so quit at that point.

Are you referring to the WSO in your sigfile? If so, I believe it is on page 12, like I mentioned in my earlier post.

It is definitely not deleted, and still can be found in the WSO forum listings. It really sounds to me like the bump worked and then stopped working.

    Hey Glen,

I sometimes have a problem locating my WSO's when I try to find them on one of the WSO pages.

What I do is look for the folder to the left of my WSO which contains and arrow.

    Hope that helps.

    Have a Great Day!

PS, If you have posted replies in other peoples WSO you will also see the arrow next to their WSO.

Generally... if you're browsing individual pages on the WSO section, it gets really tiring on the eyes to try and spot specific listings. One trick you can use, if you're using FireFox, is to press the F3 key. You'll get a little search box on the bottom of your browser that says "Find:". Type in your name. Then, as you flip from page to page in the WSO section, you can do a quick search for your own name. It'll find the first one in the "Welcome, Your Name" part of the forum, but then, if you have a listing on that particular WSO page, your name will be highlighted the second time you hit the F3 key. Try this. It's not as complicated as it probably sounds from the way it was just described.

    Glenn,

It is definitely there on the listing pages, as my WSO Tracker is able to find it. I am guessing it is down lower than you expect.

I see it was posted on 8/29. I am assuming you think it should be higher because you bumped it, but I am guessing something went wrong with the bump and it dropped back down to the original position.

In my system it is on page 12, so you may want to check there in the WSO forum, too.

Hi all, and thanks for your help. I tried using find in my browser before I posted. My WSO was bumped
on Tuesday, and was alive an well on page one on Wednesday when I returned home from my lunch
date. A couple of hours later it seems to have done "The Indian Rope Trick". I do have more than one
WSO, but these are on much lower pages so it's not those ones.

Glenn I know what you're talking about. Yesterday I was browsing the WSO forum and in the listings on page 1 I *saw* your wso. That's when I made a reply to it.

Then a couple hours later I am looking for your WSO again to send someone the link and I can't find it anywhere!

But because I had replied to it, and then you replied to it, I got an email notification (love that system) and therefore had the direct link which I was able to pass on.

But it is VERY odd because I could not find your WSO anywhere and if I were you I'd open up a support ticket. Sounds like it may be a bug. Because if you're wso got moved due to any reason, one would think that the direct url (which goes straight to the WSO forum) wouldn't continue to work.

Good luck and hope you get this resolved because it could be a bug that affects others as well. First time I've encountered it though!

Thanks Karen, I responded to your testimonial, it was shortly after that when it vanished.
OK.. give it back.. what did you do with it? Holding it for ransom? What do you want?
        10% of abcf?

Thanks for the Support Ticket suggestion.. Have opened one as we speak, so to speak.

Yes, fast support fixed my invisible WSO right away as well.

I wonder what caused this to happen to a few of the WSOs though?

Looks like I've just discovered the same type of issue.

My WSO was on the top of page 2 and now gone.

Off to send a support ticket.

        Cheers,

Yep same thing happened to me, sent of a support ticket earlier this morning. I'm wondering, should I just pay another $20 for the bump and that will bring my wso back on the board?
