Ok, I need to get a screen capture program, and curious if there is anything better or equal to Camtasia. I had an older version of Camtasia on my laptop, but that pretty much is dead, so I need to purchase something new.

I like Camtasia, just curious if anyone has any other recommendations(and if so why?) before I purchase.

Thanks!

keith

LOL Mark you confused me with that post.
I thought you where talking about the OP's needs.

I agree, Jing does limit the recording time, but for most people who don't need long recordings it's a quick helper. I personally use Camtasia Studio though.

As far as a PC is concerned there is nothing, absolutely nothing that can match the peformance of CAMATSIA. Ask any professional IMer out there - they'd all vote for the software. Since I have tried a few options including SnagIT - let me tell u on face that nothing matches CAMATSIA by far!

My advice would be to download the trial version of all softwares that u are interested in and only purchase after u have found out what suits YOU best! atleast thats what i would have done....

If you are looking to invest in a program, Camtasia is great. I have used other software including Camstudio, Jing, and SnagIt, but I liked Camtasia best. I actually took advantage of the free trial first, though, to be sure that it was what I needed. If price is not a concern, I would definitely recommend Camtasia.

I use Camtasia for big projects like training videos and i use Jing for small jobs, like short videos under 2 mins.

Definately stick with Jing. Pay the $15 dollars and you can actually have the ability to upload it to Youtube and other video sharing sites. If You are looking to do screencapture webinars or rather lengthy training/displays you are definately going to want to stick to camtasia.
