Has anyone ever used an informative blog post as a landing page for ppc traffic?

Affiliate links are there, but it's more of a how to article than a sales page.

    Hi Mattk,
Using a blog as a landing page/sales page is really an interesting idea. However, whether or not this will work well is kinda dependant on how you are getting the traffic that is coming to your page. If your using seo this may be a very effective way to get people who are interested in your product to trust you and be much more likely to buy something than if you were blatantly selling it to them. If your using ppc though, i dont think i would strongly recommend this strategy just bc/ you are paying money for traffic that won't necessarily buy ne thing and may be turned off by your blog-like landing page. I am definately interested in hearing what your results are and i will wait to see the post.
    Hope This Helps

I was thinking the exact same thing, but wanted to get some other peoples thoughts. I would hate to throw money away since the niche is pretty competitive. Thanks.

You can use PPC to drive traffic to an affiliate blog, but be sure to have an opt-in form on your blog. That way, even if you don't get a sale out of the traffic immediately, if you get them to opt-in to a list, you have a chance to make a sale to that same traffic at a later time.

You can create a 7 day mini-course, write a small report on the niche you are promoting, or even find a PLR product related to your niche and rebrand it.

Put an opt-in form in the sidebar or use a pop-up overlay showing your free offer, and hopefully some of that paid traffic will turn into leads.
