So, what works in Marketing? Everything and Nothing!

I have been Warrior Forum for a little over six months now. I have read and learned about SEO, PPC, PPV, Press Releases, Article Marketing, CPA, Senuke, Brute Force, Angela's backlinks, Facebook Advertising, Twitter Marketing and a host of other things.

And I still find it amazing that one person will rave about a technique and another person completely dismisses the same technique. One person will advise not to even think about a particular form of marketing and then the next person will come in and say it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I know different things work for different people, and ultimately nobody really knows what will work until they test it out, but I just find it amusing that there are so many opinions on here that are in stark contrast of each other. So hopefully you gurus see why many of us newbies are absolutely confused, lol.

An often overlooked part of the marketing effort is creating a site people love and want to return to and tell their friends about it. You can do all the keyword research, PPC, and backlinking, but then totally fail on creating a site that is worthwhile. This is most common problem for people.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Yes, there are a ton of different ways to make money online...

The key thing to remember is that if you genuinely help people you have a much better chance at making money online

Identify your strengths (and interest) then build a business based off of that

I think the best way to deal with all this is to pick one of the techniques that appeals to you. Then MASTER it. So many people in the IM community dabble in so many techniques that they never make it b/c by the time they would be making it using the technique they are already off to the next thing.

Everyone works a marketing technique differently. That is why some can have success and others will not.

If you can find something that works for you then just expand it out.

I am definitely seeing that focusing on one method seems to be the way to go. I do get confused however because some strategies recommend to diversify marketing techniques, but being a small business owner, it's very difficult to do that when you are virtually working on your own. Any suggestions on this?
