How to get WP captioned photos onto the same line?

I've got a Wordpress 2.6 post that has multiple thumbnail images. I have applied the built-in caption feature to add captions to each thumb.

I'd like to display the thumbs sequentially on one line (or a grid) but I can't figure it out to save my life!

Each caption appears to be in a div, so they're always one per line.

If I remove the captions, so there's basically a bunch of img tags, it will display inline and flow like text for different sized browsers.

However, as soon as I leave the [caption] stuff in, it's one thumb/caption per line.

Has anyone else addressed this particular issue? If not, I'll head to the WP forums, but I really prefer it here

Thanks in advance!

Use left alignment when you upload your images.

In your stylesheet, make sure the declaration for .alignleft includes "float: left". WP2.6 assigns 'alignleft' and 'alignright' classes to the image/caption div.
