What's Best For An "Honest Review" Type Website?

Hello everyone,

Right now I'm making a review type site for two pet care guides. One has a higher price point but is more detailed, the other has slightly less detail but also comes at a much less expensive price.

Now, this site goes through the "my story" progression and then proceeds to list summary reviews of each guide side by side. Underneath each I'm wondering which of the following would be better for linking to the vendor.

A) A professional looking "Instant Access" button.

B) A simple "<Name Of Guide> Official Site" large text link.

The reason I don't know is because obviously the .png button has professionality, but maybe it's to selly to be on a personal review type site? What are your guys' thoughts on this?

As always, your input is much appreciated!

Well, why don't you test both?

You can use google optimizer if you want to get fancy and do split testing or you can do a week with option A, a week with option B, and compare the results. If you are using wordpress, you can get the pretty link plugin, which will not only clock the affiliate link, but also keep track of how many people click. Combine with google analytics, you can see the # of unique visitors vs the number of clicks vs the number of sales. If you are using clickbank or a similar network, they will at least give you the hops and sales.

What works for one market/audience may not work for the other.

IMO the "official site" link will probably work better.

Thanks for your input : ) I use weebly yo create and host sites on my own domain so I don't have WP plugins but I do have Google analytics installed so tracking shouldn't be a problem.
