IM from your hospital bed...

I'm in hospital at the moment after having some major surgery and yes you've guessed it, I'm sat here on my lappy checking emails and websites etc.

lol I couldn't help wondering who else would be sad enough to do this

That's not sad - that's sound therapy for keeping you sane. What else would you be doing? Staring at the walls, getting ratty with other people on your ward for their moronic banter, pretending the "food" they just gave you was actually edible.

This sounds to me like the perfect opportunity to get stuck in online without the usual distractions at home.

Get well soon, hope the surgery went well.

I probably would - I'd get stressed if I didn't know what was happening with my business and checking my stats would at least cheer me up . Best of luck with your recovery and hope you'll be back in the comfort of your office v. soon.

Last time I was in hospital, the chaplain asked what I thought of the food, and you can imagine my reply!

His response was, "Ahhh, you need to ask for the Halal and the Kosha menus, as the Jews and the Muslims have their own chefs on staff. . ."

3 weeks later, I went home after putting on a pile of weight after gorging myself on 2 excellent curries a day!

      BTW - I thought I hadn't seen a newsletter for a while - get better soon.

Have you seen how expensive tv's, laptops and telephones are to hire in a hospital!

If I was you I'd rent that baby out. I'm sure you could get £10 an hour (£3.50 for 20- mins). Get your familiy to bring in your old laptop and clean up!

Ha ha that's wonderful, marketer to the last lol

The telly is a fiver for 24 hours (what a rip off), phone 10p a minute. I've got my cell phone here so using that baby.

I rarely watch the tv so wasn't bothered about it, but brother in law insisted on treating me last night so I didn't miss the Xfactor (bless him, I didn't have the heart to tell him I was recording it).

      Anyone for a choccy

Oh my god, you guys have to pay for televisions in hospital rooms in the UK? In the US, we've had televisions in every hospital room for free since the 70s or 80s! Telephone is free unless it's long distance. Internet is free in most hospitals, and you don't even have to log on. You have to supply your own computer, though. They don't even have those available for rent.

I guess that's the price you pay for having a public healthcare system?

What hospital in the US are you talking about? It's always been that you pay for TV, pay for telephone...I'm surprised they don't charge for a glass of water....
I was in earlier this year (late Januray)....dam pesky heartattcks, I hate when that happens....anyways, the first thing I asked for was my laptop.

Your not alone Kim, far from it...lol

            Hey

I'm not sure if I would want to carry on doing product support for Regace whilst in hospital - I think I'd find a friend I trusted to carry it on because I am liable to get stressed if someone is getting shirty with me on an email and that might not be good for recovery (just to note I might get stressed but I tend to be professional and polite as possible dealing with people!)

However something creative, like writing articles, and eBook, doing some graphics that would be great. Something you can just stop if you feel tired and pick up again later would be ideal.

Hope you have a quick recovery and make a buck or two from your bed!

              Hi Kim,

Log into Clickbank and create a link for the product "7 Secrets Doctors Won't Tell Nurses" and start building your list while you're there.

Throw in a OTO using "Now Any Nurse Can Make 3X More Money in 30 Days or Less". It comes with two unbelievable bonuses, "Confessions of a Bed Pan Junkie" and "Sponge Bath Seduction Secrets". Both are video series. In color.

Follow that up by sending them a $1 (or pinch or whatever you folks call money over there) Trial Offer for "Matronly Monster Monthly Membership" on a forced continuity plan and sit back and watch the sales pour in.

Take the money and buy real food with it. Remember, all that hospital food is recycled from restaurant left overs that have been sanitized by passing them through a series of goat bladders filled with Domestos.

All kidding aside, I hope you have speedy recovery.

    Kim,

Speedy recovery. Most business owners get back to 'work' as soon as they can. Even in the hospital.

You're lucky to be able to do everything from the hospital bed, but the food sucks.

      Hey Kim,

I pray for a speedy recovery. I almost built my business in the hospital. When I started my father was buying of lung cancer and my wife had brain surgery. Then I went kookoo for coco puffs and was in and out of the hospital myself from all the stress.

But, I was able to build my business as I sat right there next to my wife and my father. Cool stuff.

LOL Im quite familiar with your situation. But im not lying on the bed as a patient, im a nurse by profession.

One thing that strikes me though is that patients always find it therapeutic if they check emails. It has been an open observation of mine throughout the years.

    Get well soon!

Unfortunately in this business you have to be constantly checking accounts stats details emails.

God forbid you should be sick in bed and not answer emails - the following day you will be faced with 200 more emails.

Emails stalkers tend to be more active when they do not get immediate attention when they send you an email. Forgive one for having a life.

Having a laptop while in a hospital bed makes sense to me. I have never been hospitalized, but have seen the boredom in family members who have been. NO laptops back then.
