Would you promote a product "As Seen On Clickbank"?

I've been researching various products to recommend and ran across of products that so far have a good reputation, but I'm having difficulty with the idea of buying them and doing a full review because they use nonsensical claims in very prominent places like "As Seen On Clickbank" which are frankly embarrassing to put in front of my subscriber list.

What would you do?

    No - It is meaningless.

Anyone can put almost anything on CB so what does such a claim do?

Like you say - such claims just make u look like an idiot - definitely avoid them.

  • And? People buy stupid things for stupid reasons.

Look at Black Friday and the rush of people that go to stores in the wee hours of the morning so they can buy crap model TV's from no name brands with 90 day warranties.

Bottom line is if you don't believe in what you are doing, no one else will either.

I tend to promote a lot of software that I buy then evaluate and use in my business. I use SEO Elite... it's a good product which I use to reverse engineer sites. I think a lot of the other products put out by Brad are average at best but this is a good one. But contrary to what I believe people keep right on buying those other products. There is a ton of hype behind them.

You do what you can and you don't make value judgments about what other people want.

I agree "As seen on Clickbank" doesn't mean anything. Just like the people who say "As seen on (insert site)" just because they ADVERTISED on that site...not because they were featured, etc.

As seen on clickbank is pointless. A lot of consumers do not know what clickbank is. Go out into the street and ask people if they have heard of clickbank and the majority will say no. This doesn't create a sense of security so I wouldn't make it sway me.

The only reason I can think of for doing this is that SOME people might unconsciously say to themselves, "Oh, I guess Clickbank is something where you'd SEE something, making it important".

BUT - I don't think that's the case. I just can't see anyone caring. I'd think of something better to say. How about getting your product reviewed or mentioned somewhere that customers actually know about. Then reference THAT.
