Should I close my site out?

Hi everyone,

I have a website (the link is in my sig) that is mainly CB affiliate products. I get traffic to it but sales are scarce. I have been thinking about taking it down. If you check out the site, you will see that I am also promoting a product I am creating and will be available first part of next year.

I would like your opinion...should I take it down or continue to promote it. I have promoted it through article marketing and blogging, although not much on the blog. Are CB products worth promoting nowadays? I really would like your opinion about this. Thanks!

If your Clickbank products aren't converting and your getting SEO traffic, I would leave it up and put Adsense on the page so that you're monetizing it somehow. Then when you create your product, you can take the Adsense down and use it to promote your product.

I honestly can't see how you're getting much traffic of value to that site. The links to it are mostly, um, not very good, and there's not very many of them either. CB is good, but you should pick a different niche, as the one you're doing - aside from being hard - might not be well suited to you. You should also learn how you rank in the SERPs for stuff that matters and not just the name of your site.

Don't close the site down, though. Use it to link to your other sites. Consider rebranding it. I never close a site down. If it's not going to be making any money I'll either use it for a bit of link juice or perhaps sell it to some clown on DP or SitePoint or something.

Yeah this was my first site when I started in IM. I just haven't been sure what to do with it so I put the product creation thing on it. Other than that....Thanks! I have changed out CB products from time to time but thats about it.

Good! Keep it and do some one way links from it then. One good thing about building sites is that your efforts are rarely wasted. You can always build upon what you've already built, so don't throw any of it away.

Is it a site that you work on consistently (articles, ppc, blog commenting, etc) if it is and your not getting sales then def. make some adjustments.

But, if you don't really do anything to it and spend no time on it and it still brings you a sale now and then, I wouldn't take it down. Just let it bring you what it's going to bring you.

I hardly touch it anymore but it never was much of a money maker. But I can leave it up for one way links I guess.

Out of curiosity, what kinds of adjustments would you make on it if you were me?

I'd change the title to something more driving, it just doesn't force me to want to read the page. I'd also get rid of the "thanks for visiting xyz.com". You want to make them think they are crazy for not ever visiting your site before. Also, whats your main purpose for the page? To build a list or to sell affiliate products? Just curious because if your trying to build a list, I'd get rid of the affiliate products. You can always promote those with a nice video review or example later on when you have them on your list.

Make the call to action to your free report a lot stronger than it is. You've got "before you get started, enter your name and email to get your free news letter". I'd give a way a report or some kind of interview. Something a lot stronger than just a "news letter". What's in the newsletter? Why should I subscribe? If it's about IM, then I would want to see something that can help me out right after I read it (just my opinion).

Instead of trying to get them to visit your blog further down the paragraph, I'd add another optin box or try again to drive them to the free
report on your side bar. Maybe even add a light box with a nice ecover for your report or ebook give away. Then once their on your list, you can always send them your news letter.

Thats just for starters some things that I would do.

Cool thanks for the input! I am going to take care of this over the next week or two I think. Need to rethink this site. I think you are right about getting rid of the affiliate products for now. They haven't done much anyway.
