The insensitivity of internet marketers
A few of them have responded to some of my posts where I mention my dificulties by offering to help. When I accept the offers I sometimes suddenly find myself on the mailing lists of literally hundreds of biz-opp pushers (email processors, medicare records clerks, survey takers and the like).
At other times the offer of help might be couched in such convincing terms that I feel that here, at last, is a real person who wants to help. The only trouble is, I never hear from them again.
I am the first to admit that I need all the help I can get and I even asked for help in the WF recently - the first time, I think, that I have ever done that - fortunately warriors are more phlegmatic and either did not read my request or did not feel in a position to help so did not respond.
The real icing on the cake came when I received a call at 1am from someone in California (he said) claiming to be able to help me with no trouble at all and that he would not ask me for a single cent. Since he asked for 15 minutes of my time and was talking about one-on-one coaching I made sure that he knew I had absolutely no money.
After listening to about 12 minutes of a pitch that sounded quite interesting and appropriate I was 'handed off' to another pitcher. No hesitation with this guy - "Do you have a credit card or chequing account?" was his first question. Since I had neither, the offer of help evaporated.
It is not in my nature to ask for help. It is not in my nature to exploit people who ask for help. It is not in my nature to lie about what my services will cost.
I guess I'll never make an internet marketer.
Should I be thanking God that my failing sight is helping me to see some people more clearly?
