Would like the Forums opinion on Blogs and Articles. How and when do you separate the content you put in a Blog vs an Article? I have mixed the two together in the past and post the same information to both. Can a Blog be and Article?

I think the key difference would have to be in tone. A blog is usually a bit more personal and informal than an article.

A blog can contain articles while an article cannot contain a blog. This is basic but you should make a good idea. A blog would/could make you rank better since you can keep on posting about the niche you chose.

Good point, since updating a Blog will provide new fresh information, it will rank higher.
Articles seem to lose some steam and drop in rankings.

I thing the purpose of a blog is to develop a base of readers, and often you are writing to people who have come to respect you for your knowledge. You don't have this with an article.

Sure, you can use the same content in both your blog and in your articles. If you are posting the articles on your own blog, and also submitting those articles to online article directories, just be sure and put a link back to your own published blog post so the search engines can properly assign ownership.

You can use the same content, but with articles you are limited by your angle or point of view.

With a personal blog, you can choose to show the positive side of a topic one week, and then discuss the negatives the following week. You could also have interviews with experts on both sides in up-coming weeks.

Tough to do all of that with just an article.

I often use the same information, but rewrite a blog post to fit the requirements of an article directory. I take out the personal tone, etc.

In my experience it's always a good idea to get as much mileage out of an idea as you can. So if you post some content to a blog try to rewrite the content for article directories. this way you are leveraging each idea to the maximum.

You can use the same information but change the tone of the content.

Use articles for people looking for great information, reporting, etc..

Use your blog to become opinionated on the topic, expressing your feelings, your thoughts, to become known as an authority on the topic, and as a real person.

You can use the same content for both blogs and articles but the difference is with a blog you can post more info to it. You can add interactive tools for your readers. You can create a blog a good place to visit and you can control the blog more thatn you can an article.

I have used both and they both work well in conjunction with each other. I mainly use articles to drive the traffic to the blog.

Writing in your own blog has a more comfortable setting, you have the freedom with regards to how you want to write the stuff you want to convey. Writing an article normally requires you to follow certain terms and conditions, especially with higher authority article directories like EzineArticles. You cannot just write and link here and there, your article will get rejected.

Writing on your own blog also gives instant gratification. You have the control to just click "Publish" and your work is up for everyone to see, unlike writing articles where it can take a while to see your work online.

I write a blog- then give it to a writer to rewrite the key points up into an article format.
    that helps!
