Building an 'authority website' from day 1

I was thinking about this the other day.

I've been using the Internet for 14 years and creating websites for about 10. If I had chosen pretty much any niche and created a website 10 years ago I would without doubt be one of the 'authority' websites in that niche.

That's my small regret.

After having this thought it made me think; spend a little bit of every day working on 1 main website - something that will last.

We all spend hours (well I do) trying new techniques and jumping on new trends that make a quick buck for a few months BUT having an authority site with quality content that is updated every day really will make money in the long run.

So yeah, from that day I've decided to create a website in a niche that interests me, add quality content, try and get involved in the scene, arrange link exchanges and build a valuable resource.

Hopefully a year from now I'll be getting quality traffic

    Thats what I am doing I am aiming for 2-3 articles a day and 5-10 back links a day. Nothing to hard to achieve, my goal is to make a long term authority site to put me through uni, and thats in 10 months

      Joe, just a word of encouragement. I was in your position 14 months ago.

      Guess what?

      Google now recognises my site as an authority in my niche.

      If you want, I'll PM the site details to you. The niche I'm in is super competitive but I am now ranking for some super keywords. (super=highly searched keywords)
