My First "Home Run" On The Internet

As many of you may or may not know I'm a "hybrid" marketer. I never had much success with IM, but had great success with offline marketing. I've recently shifted my focus to IM so I could spend more time at home with my daughter.

I've specifically been focusing on building lots of mini blogs, and I just wanted to share some of the results with you all, and thank you guys for your help.

After building just 5 sites, I've seen a steady flow of extremely targeted traffic coming in, and the sales have started rolling in. I went from making roughly$100-$200 a month from IM to making $20-$60 a day consistently.

It took about 2 weeks to reach this level, but it was totally worth it. The most important part is keyword research. If you can get the right keyword, and get the traffic, then even if your website sucks you'll convert.

I know my sites don't look the best, but I'll address that another time. I'm focusing now on more keyword research, and building more sites.

So fellow Warriors, although this may seem like a bunt to many of you, its a home run to me, because I can duplicate it, and its sustainable. And I want to thank any of you who have helped me get here.

Joining WF and taking everything in over the last few months has really made me realize how profitable and fun making money online can be!

See you at the country club!

-Jason

Its really pretty simple, if the keyword has traffic, go for it. Thats my rule of thumb. When I use Google External Keyword Tool, I'm just looking for untapped traffic.

One of my sites EASILY ranked #1 for a direct keyphrase with 12,000 searches a month and little or no competition. Because it was untapped, I was able to get in there, without any backlinking and start making money. That site is now my biggest money maker.

      Congrats, that's awesome!

If you don't mind me asking, how are you monetizing? Adsense, CPA, Clickbank?

Hey Jason - thanks for sharing.

You are so right - blindly generating content can be a huge waste of time and tends to discourage people just starting out.

Focusing on keyword research really makes a big difference.

I like my keywords to have traffic, but also do some digging on relevancy - keywords that show up high toward competitor sites, keywords that indicate urgency or propensity to buy, etc...

Question - are you outsourcing any of your content generation across your blogs, or are you doing it all yourself at this point?

Oddly enough the sites I've had the most success with have had the content just copied and pasted from ezine.

Hasn't failed me yet. I do plan on however rewriting all of them at some point, simply because I have been focusing on setting up lots of sites and I needed the articles to fill out the blogs.

Just curious, do you keep the author's link and info when you copy and paste?

          Jason,
Congrats!!! Times are tough and IM is still alive and kickin'

          I'm curious like Marhelper.

I'm still new at this stuff and don't like writing, probably because I'm not good at it. Do I understand that you are taking relevant articles from EZine and pasting them, word for word, on your blogs? And, same as Marhelper, are you keeping the author's name and links in tact (and visible).

What about the theory that Google won't give you credit for duplicate content? You seem to be proving that wrong.

Fortunately due to my offline success, I am able to invest money into this for domains and hosting and what not. So setting these blogs up consists of: Domain $7.50, Hosting $9.99 for unlimited sites monthly, and thats it. They are wordpress blogs, and are easily set up and populated with content.

The true key, as has been pointed out before is keyword research.

Way to go, Jason! It's really exciting when one can see their marketing efforts start working.

I was wondering how you're promoting your blogs. Are you using article marketing, social bookmarking, or adwords? Or are you just relying on search engines to find your blogs?

Did you did onpage or ofpage SEO or both?? backling and Articlemarketing?

Are these conent sites with pages or onpage sites?

Onpage seo is important but easy to do with wordpress. I give all authors credit, and I make sure I have the keyphrase exactly in my domain name. If it's not available I'll add a suffix like "online" or "today" just make sure the keyphrase is exact. I rely on the search engines to find me, as I focus on creating lots of sites.

Do you list your blogs and domains in/on any of the directories? Or do you just purchase, set-up, add posts and wait?

    Well Done Jason,

So nice to hear a genuine guy making a success of himself and using the WF in the right way.

Find a method that works then duplicate it - that's the way forward to multiple income streams. Thanks for sharing your success and knowledge!

I wouldn't worry about making 'great looking sites'. The ugly ones usually convert better.
