Guess what? Now you can get Dragon Naturally Speaking on your iPhone...for free (*for a limited time). iTunes Link

I just downloaded a tried it. Amazingly accurate and it even responds to the "period" and "new line" commands.

Here are some possible uses for nearly any internet marketer:

Respond/Create emails on the road by simply speaking.
Speak out a blog post and either copy/paste it into the Wordpress App or email it to your secret Wordpress email.
Speak and document any niches or notes you see while you're out on the road.
Speak out a post/reply for the Warrior Forum and paste into the quick reply box.
Send yourself RememberTheMilk reminders by simply speaking and emailing them to you RTM secret email.

The perfect companion for any business person that needs to send emails on the road and doesn't want to risk texting. Just speak on the road...and email the message while waiting at a light.

Here's what I don't know...how long can I record?

Gene, this is a great application for the iPhone. I've been waiting for this for a very long time. It will allow me to write notes, send text messages, write e-mails, and perform other mundane tasks that I normally cannot type while I'm on the road or even at the desk. Even better, is that it's free for a limited time.

I spoke the above message. There appears to be a limit of 35 seconds or so.

Ack. This requires OS 3.1 on the iPhone. I'm not upgrading yet because I have tethering set up on OS 3.0, and upgrading to 3.1 will break it. :/

Looks nice otherwise...

Had the same problem.

Solution:

Upgrade to 3.1, jailbreak your phone and download the My Wi App from rock your phone. Now I have tethering, plus my phone works as a Wireless Access Point!

Back to the topic at hand, I just downloaded it and it seems to work really well! Thanks for the heads up.

Hard to believe how accurate it is and without training.
I thought that this was a processor intensive program
and how it works on the iPhone is beyond me. But it
sure beats typing on that tiny screen for sure!!

  As far as I know the IPod touch does not have a built in microphone. I would assume that it would work fine though if you purchased one of the after market mics available

  works on the ipod touch, you can use the built in mic that comes together with the ear phones.

Don't forget that Android phones also have native voice recognition capabilities, and in addition to that Dragon has announced an upcoming app for these phones as well.

Does the recognition get better the more you use it? I've used speech recognition on the PC (both Dragon and Via Voice) and the results out of the box weren't that great. After training it for a while, the recognition was much better.
