How to close a thread

I've just had someone respond to a thread of mine some
two months after I said I had a solution.

Which got me thinking.

Why can't we close our own threads ?

I've now burrowed into the forum software and added a
beta version of a facility to enable this.

Go to one of your threads then do the following.

Hit Ctl, Alt, Caps Lock, Shift and Tab simultaneously.

If you don't see the response 'thread closed' it's
because you are not hitting all keys at the same time so
keep persevering.

Your feedback is welcomed
- do you think this is a useful feature
- was it easy to do
- would you want a 'thread reopened' version

  • I did it just to mess around while I'm waiting for a skype contact to become free... and... something very spooky happened.

I received an email whilst simultaneously pressing the keys.

Now, send this message to 30,000 other friends, then press ALT + F4 three times...

It's amazing, it really works - a Baboon will appear on your screen wearing a pink leotard and rollerskates.

  • Whilst rubbing your stomach with the other hand and counting backwards from 10?

    Seriously - it isn't April 1 - so I thought I'd try it.

Ctl, CL, Shift +Tab did nothing. Adding in Alt brought up a window and the computer was trying to switch to another open program.

I'm using Chrome on Windows 7 - so either it doesn't work at all, it's a windup or it isn't browser/OS safe. Or I just don't have enough fingers.

    • I am shocked that you doubt me.

      And so ..

I'm about to close this thread

(if I can find out how )
