I just read about this and was wondering if anyone has more info that may be relevant.
Personalized Search.
Google does a sneaky rollout of a new policy that affects everyone who uses the engine whether or not they're logged in -- and makes it really unlikely that the vast majority of Web users will ever figure out how to opt out, or even that that they can.
You have to OPT-OUT to get searches like you are used to getting. To opt out you need to:
1.Click Web History.
2.Disable customizations
3.Clear your cookies
4.Then, because clearing your cookies resets your Google cookie and turns history-based customizations back on, redo steps 1 and 2.
