Need free ebook site recommendations - building my list

I've decided it's high time I really started building my lists, especially with my main site. I have had an opt in box on there for a few months now, and the percentage of visitors that opt in is nothing short of pathetic I have identified a few reasons for this, but the main one is simply that there just isn't enough in it for them to sign up. I want to give them a free gift as a thank you for signing up, hopefully this will help improve conversions. I was thinking of creating a short PDF report myself, but until then I would like to take a look at some of the free ebooks offered at various directories and perhaps use one of those for now. Any recommendations where I can find some good sites to browse would be much appreciated

    Off the top of my head a good site to get free ebooks with some plr is plrwholesaler.com then please remember to change the graphics so that it can then be your own design and you can also add content to the text within that plr.

      Thanks Aaron, I signed up and that's a great site I found an ebook I want to give to new subscribers as a free gift. I'm completely new to PLR though - the ebook was in word format so I opened it, and added 'a free gift from mysite.com' before the contents section. Do I just save it as a PDF then upload it to my site now?

    Basically, yes. Make it a pdf file and then zip it. ZIP files, when clicking on their link, start downloading automatically.

    Experienced marketers often recommend to put some affiliate links or links to your other sites (where you sell something), too. This could help if poeple are sending around your pdf file to each other (without subscribing to your list): they still might click on your links

        yeah plrwholesaler.com is a great site, when you are ready to create your own pdf you can download open office for free at openoffice.org to create your pdf.

        Also you may want to have have a upsell page, put together a massive bonus package that is irresistible to your subscriber put a paypal button on it, you then have a chance of making money while building your list.

    Liam - If you are looking for sites that offer only free ebooks, just Google "free ebooks." If you are looking for sites that welcome ebooks for purchase then I have a few recommendations, Problem is I initially put links in this email and was immediately banned from doing so.

    You can contact me since I am featuring my ebooks on talk radio shows on these sites. Since I have ebooks in many different categories, such as business, New Age, health, sports, Self-Help, Entertainment and Politics, it takes a while to get them all on!!!
