The best tool I found for doing my Twitter Marketing is a using tool called Twit Automator Its pretty easy to use and has a nice auto follow feature. Use Tweep Search to find the Big Guns (w/ 10k+ followers) in a specific niche and click the Add a New Peer and your Follower count will grow at the max rate every day. I bought the tool so I could do my Recurring Tweets again.

This is great info and having a good amount of followers is really cool but my point is...

How valuable are these followers?

I've got results from twitter, there are some techniques and strategies you have to use in order to get good results but 85% of your followers will never buy anything from you.

So, you have to measure to see if it works out for you.

When you are targeting your Followers Industry related, it is VERY powerful. Also...Social Media is not made for selling things. I make great contacts, Joint Ventures and sales.
Try getting over 20,000 Followers and you will see more results. It all about massive amounts of web traffic :-)

PVReymond is right you need to track your links you post. To market on twitter you need stradegy and a good market.

You can have 20000 automatic followers and only 12 will buy your products. Social marketing is about social knowing people and build trust in them.

If you just post your links and do not know people and there need or problems you will be a shop with allot of product but no customers.

From my experience I have found that twitter followers don't buy a darn thing, at least my 5K followers don't. There are too many automated accounts where no one reads your post.

Also after Twitter imposed limits on how many you can follow so I don't believe you can mass follow anymore.. Once you reach the 2000 following limit you are restricted to a ratio of following to followers which then restricts how many you can follow which usually is several hundred more that are following you. So if you think you can get 1000's followers a day think again.

I agree with you there that you can add 300-500 every few days so as not to look automated and that you are doing bulk following then un-following which will get your account closed.

I was more referring to those ads saying that you can get 1000's of followers per day.

I try to post quotes and other things of interest along with my links.

Problem with twitter is that its getting harder to get posts read unless the peolple who are following you are not following that many.

It really depends on your industry and products you are trying to promote on Twitter. If you are pitching Affiliate Links, might want to try something else. If you are with MLM, Network Marketing or Google Adsense, then I would use Twitter. Those types of programs can be effective if you can gain enough followers to be at the top of searches for your target keyword...basically if those worthless followers help you find people whom might actually be looking for your product.

I've found Twitter works better business-business then direct to consumer.

Before you go using auto-follow and auto-unfollow systems, you may want to read Twitter's rules for that. Any automated systems for either of those (except auto-follow-back) are not allowed, and can get your account deleted.

As allows Mr. Paul is right. Thats one way to get your account deleted fast and another reason all those programs out there promising to get you tons of followers are no longer valid after twitter placed the limits and ratios into place...

I would say its possible to add around 1000 per week but thats pushing it.

If you follow most of whats out there you have a very good chance of getting deleted. Like I said you can get 1000 followers a week but anything more is pushing it in my opinion.

Thats based on adding 1000 with 50% following back. 50% may be too high depending on your target unless its from automated accounts which won't read your posts anyway.

Andy anything is worth a shot. I am not against twitter just that its not all that its cracked up to be.

Using twitter should not be about getting 50K or 100K followers if 99% won't read your stuff.

I feel it will work better if the people you follow are following less than 100 people.

I agree with your point of view, and I am 100% sure that not all of your followers will read your messages. However suppose only 10% of them read your tweets , that makes 1000 people in case you have 10k followers and 10 people in case you have 100 followers.

Let's face it, people who use those methods do not have the means ($$) to put ads on Google, Facebook etc etc...However they wish to be known (just like I am trying todo myself).

I would say 10% might even be too high but I agree its a numbers game if you want to play it. I am not saying it can't work just that its not as easy as most would have you believe.

I have been able to drive 2500 clicks to my programs without 1 sale but in order to make sure your posts are seen you have to be posting like every few minutes.

Don't expect to get too much traffic posting just a few times a day. Again it pretty much boils down to how many of those following you are following.

I haven't watched the video, but if you recommend using automated systems, like others in the thread have, you are promoting the breaking of the TOS of another site. That's not allowed here.

Anyone who does this is also breaking a contract which they agreed to when they signed up for a Twitter account. You did realize that those user agreements are contracts, right?

All that aside for the moment... Yeah. Lots of people get away with stuff they shouldn't, and lots of others don't. And when the system changes and they adjust and crack down on this more, the numbers change. Ask anyone who thought they were golden with MSA sites, and then complained bitterly when Google slapped the crap out of them.

They are pretty much talking about any apps that will allow you to do mass follow and unfollow. What they don't want to se is someone follow 600 then 2 hours later unfollow 400 as that is a sign of simply trying to build up numbers.

I'm not talking about anything but what the TOS says. It's rather explicit. It doesn't say, "Except systems we have approved." It says NONE.

If there's an exception, I'm more than willing to be publicly corrected. Wouldn't be the first time. But I'd need something more substantial than, "It seems okay to me."

The API can be used to violate their TOS, but that's not the intent behind it. You might want to note that the part I quoted is in the section of their TOS that is specifically devoted to automation.

Eric...I covered that in the video...I am hurt that you didn't watch it :-(

Go to Huitter.com/mutuality2 - New version of Mutuality. Twitter cheats, tweaks, tools and mass unfollow, I would only use this several times per month. After you add people and cap out, wait 48 to 72 hours and give people a chance to Follow you. Lastly, only Follow the first 5 pages of each person. It's like getting a fresh list of people who are active on Twitter.

1) This is the wrong way to approach Twitter.

2) Following 39,000 people destroys and forfeits any chance to really
experience success as an entrepreneur using Twitter.

2a) The private message spam at even a fraction of your numbers
will render this terrific platform useless.

3) Imagine if we all helped the WF with 'How to' videos
in the main forum, with hopes of the closing minute pointing
to our site / opt in page?

Hi guys

i use socialoomph to add my marketing tweets and you can get some great staff at odesk.com to do it for you for as little as $1.50 an hour for someone that you have to train yourself.

The best way i find at the moment to get you the most followers is by tweeting with the trending topics actually in the tweet without including lots of links in it. As when you do this with the links in it people will dismiss you as a spammer and it makes you look so much better. Make it personal tweets about YOU and then you can build your brand and rep at the same time.

For example christmas is a trending topic all the time just like santa is so take about what your kids want for christmas from santa.

Or you could always post a joke about tiger woods as he is also trending at the moment.

If you are looking for more focused tweets on the make money niche type in make money online in the search box and retweet some quality tweets.

Had a look at the video great.It has taken me nearly a year to get my 20,000 followers but they keep on building slowly, l have not had many sales from twitter.I use links in my posts as they are picked up by search engines which all helps with links
