How much should mentoring cost?

I have a site, product, free giveaway, autoresponder. I need help in porducing squeeze page, marketing, traffic generation, etc. What I really am looking for is someone to walk with by the hand to get all the pieces running and provide me with a punch list of ongoing tasks. What should this cost??????????

You can find mentors for free and upwards of thousands per hour. What can you afford or better yet what value can you offer a potential mentor

Sounds fun...although I'd be curious to know how people in the negative are going to pay for a product.

I'm pretty darn handy at well EVERYTHING online.

In particular I've been getting a kick out of swooping up first page rankings for niche keywords.

I could certainly show you how to go for one of the better keyword choices for that niche and pull in subscribers and leads in about two weeks or so...maybe less if you bust it full time.

As for my background, I've got a niche ecommerce site, my own IM products, affiliate sales, and lots of lists and subscribers. I can do graphics, html, video, etc. etc.

If any of that sounds helpful, well I'd be happy to lend a hand as I'm full time online and nearby for chat on Skype almost 24/7.

Better hurry though I am going international right after christmas through new years and then have a Vegas trip in Jan. Beyond that I dunno yet probably a new launch.

Only one catch, you have to defend my honor and coolness to the death in the forums and marketing circles from here out. I think my skype or twitter maybe is in my profile if you want to check out some of my sites and whatnot I can dm it or pm or whatever.

You do realize that now banks are no longer allowed to overdraft your account and charge you fees without your permission. All banks must be in compliance by July 1st. At that point overdraft fees will be a strictly opt-in program for any transactions using your bank card.

The best mentors tend to be the ones where the relationship forms naturally instead of a simple "pay for services" model. You also need to realize that experience will teach you a lot. Everyone fails, everyone has a launch where in hindsight there were a lot of things that could have gone better, it's part of learning and any mentor worth their salt will readily admit that they are constantly learning too. Make sure your expectations are realistic going in, simply having a mentor in no way guarantees success.

I would also look for a more long term relationship. IMHO just saying you want a mentor for this short project is not really getting a mentor relationship. Think long term success, not short term gratification. A true mentor is worth more than their weight in gold. There's no such thing as a short cut to success, the mentors you're seeking out put in their time to get where they're at and they can't simply transfer that to you.

My best advice to get a mentor is become invaluable to them. I was very lucky to have a great first mentor. I learned exactly what he needed, what tedious tasks he needed done, how he liked things, etc. so he always wanted me helping at his trainings and being a part of all of his events. I can't tell you how much I learned from him and he was so grateful for what I did for him that he worked hard to promote me and my business. It was hands down the best investment in time I ever made because it's that investment that allowed me to make all the others that I have.

I also did everything he told me to do, if he mentioned a good book to read, I made sure it was read the next time we talked. He knew that if he told me to dress in a purple chicken suit and hold a sign with my web address on it I would have done it, so that made him willing to spend the time telling me exactly what I needed to do and how. You wouldn't believe how many people come to me claiming they want me to be their mentor and then they won't do the simple things I tell them they need to do, which means I'm certainly not going to spend the time telling them the deeper more complex things to do, it's a waste of my time.

So I guess my long-winded point is, you are much better served by finding a true mentor relationship, not just someone to quickly help you with this project even though immediate needs tend to dominate our minds. I doubt a thread on this forum will put you into a mentor relationship, but it may put you in contact with someone that over the course of the next few months might become a true mentor to you.

Good luck on your endeavors, sounds like you have a great start! Don't be scared to just go for it with this first product, if it doesn't work you can regroup and have another go at implementing what you learned the first time.

I realize there are changes on the hoirzon for overdraft fees. this just makes my info that much more timely and valuable. You bring up some good points regarding the mentoring process.

You might have overlooked it as I mentioned it briefly...but JOB #1 in finding markets to enter>>

The prospects needs to have disposable income or available credit.

Someone with NSF fees likely has neither.

You'd have to be creative, like capturing the lead on free info about getting fees waived and then backending as an affiliate a money management software to avoid it in the future.

They'd be really happy you helped them get money back and more likely to take a product recommendation to help them avoid future pains.

In any case keep us posted and good luck.

I think you are missing the value part.

Not many people want to teach you how to create a product just to become your affiliate.

In order to learn you need to share. I have had people come and work for free in order to learn our skills. I have also had people ask for my help with product creation in exchange for half the revenue for life.

You need to find a way to rise above the crowd on this one IMO

I would really be willing to work for free, etc if it meant taking my ebook and website and making it a viable business. I already have the product, website, etc. What I need is someone who has done it before to help me to avoid the pitfalls and take my product to the next level. I am not asking for a big time committment as I want to do most of it myself. I just hate doing a bunch of things wrong. I have been a mentor in my offline business. I always found it best to help the mentee stay on the right track without doing the work for them. However, it is very tough to find someone online to do that with me for less than the 1m previously quoted

I found great mentors at events. There is VALUE in personal connections. I don't want to be mentored by someone just because they are successful. I also must want to be like them or admire them "character-wise". They must also appreciate me in the same manner... This is something a lot of people leave out.

This is what you may be missing. I have had several multi-millionaire mentors and they did not charge me one dollar. They tell me that they have learned a lot from me too. So you can provide intellectual value. This is exactly how I learn what others are paying hundreds of thousands to learn (from these same people and others).

There are no short-cuts. When you have a real relationship with someone and they see your potential, then they are willing to invest in you. You in turn help them by referring people to them and adding value to their lives. You can also give them a % of sales for help as someone suggested previously. One way I show my heart-felt appreciation is by painting something special for them.

But first you must attract them into your life magnetically...

rgibson95 I have respect for you atleast you ask and you want to change your surrounding that is great.

I believe that most people have this ... fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of humiliation or looking bad and fear of making mistakes.

So my advice to you is take action and if you do not have the money network and join ventures with people.

My tip I can give you is this. It is not the clever people make the money. It is the people that care about there clients and serve them that make the money.

The last tip I can give you is before you create any product. Test the market and see if there is a market for your product.

Like enroll into a affiliate site with the same product and see if they buy it.

It all boils down to keep track what you do and if it does not work change your way of doing it and study what the success people do.

Always be honest about everything you do online.

    I wish you the best.

RG I like the information that you want to offer. Most people just pay those fees without even trying to fight it. I always try to fight it even if it means that I will have to call the bank two or three times to get them removed.

About the mentoring always remember that money is not everything-before money there was barter. Just offer something for what you want-giving both parties-yourself and the other person a win-win situation.

People always need help and you can provide that. You being in the banking industry would be able to give some advice to a lay person that would be very valuable.
