Swipe File Secrets

Hi Warriors

I've heard the term "swipe file" mentioned many times over the last few years - but never really known exactly what it is.

I assume it's a document containing tips, tricks, secrets and ideas that can be applied to your business?

Am I right in thinking that?

I've just started my own swipe file.

At the moment it only has two sections: Email Subject Lines and Marketing Tips.

In Email Subject Lines I just copy and paste subject lines from emails I receive from marketers that I like. In Marketing Tips I just copy and paste ideas and techniques that I read in emails, on the WF, in blogs or anywhere else online.

Do you have a swipe file? What kinds of things do you put in your swipe files?

    The things I put in my swipe files are:

    -ad copies
    -sales copies
    -headers/bullets/etc

    - Anything that will help me when writing my own salescopy, doing my own graphics, etc, etc.

    And that's what a swipe file is. Something to look into when you're stuck or when looking for guidance on a certain aspect of your project.

    James, good to see you around...been a while.

    Here's what's in my swipe file.

    Sales Copy Templates,
    Actual emails I liked from Frank Kern and others
    Product creation templates
    Bonus templates (ways to create different product bonuses)
    Product Idea Templates (basically my musings as I'm building other stuff)
    Anything else I like

    I model a lot of my work on other stuff...the reason being is that there's rarely anything new under the sun and I feel like I have a knack for improving on what's already out there.

    I buy a lot of products for this reason b/c I learn 1 thing then it's a great investment...as long as it moves me forward and helps me do more things in less time.

    I hope that gives you an idea of what I'm talking about. Drop me a PM and I'll share with you some more stuff that I keep pretty private!
